**Job Title: Forklift Operator - Core Warehouse Personnel** **Pay Rate: $18-$20** **Reports To:** Warehouse Supervisor / Operations Manager **Department:** Warehouse **Job Type:** Full-time **Job Overview:** We are seeking a reliable and efficient Forklift Operator to join our warehouse team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for a variety of core warehouse duties, including the safe and organized shipping and receiving of products, maintaining inventory, handling freight, and performing general maintenance and cleaning. The Forklift Operator will also provide backup support for inside sales duties as needed and assist with additional tasks as assigned. **Key Responsibilities:** **I. Ship/Receive Product:** **A. Ship Product:** + Organize and pack product carefully to minimize the risk of damage during transit. Use stretch wrap machine and professional packaging techniques to secure items. + Remove any supplier documents or advertisements, if applicable, before shipping. + Ensure that all packing slips are signed and dated by the driver. Collect as much information as possible, such as the carrier name, US DOT #, TX DOT #, etc., and attach packing slips to packages. + Verify product quantities and information before loading for shipment. + Turn packing slips and related documents into office staff for billing. **B. Receive Product:** + Count all incoming products while the delivery person is present. Verify quantity, quality, and ensure the product matches the purchase order (PO). + Address any discrepancies immediately by consulting with a supervisor and ensuring no signature is provided until all issues are resolved. + If no issues arise, sign for the product, indicate “received in full” on the PO, and place it in the designated bin for processing. + Submit paperwork to office staff for entry into the inventory system. **II. Arrange Freight:** **A. Stock Orders:** + Contact and compare quotes from various carriers for stock orders. Select the lowest-priced carrier to ensure cost-effectiveness. **B. Core PO:** + For Core warehouse stock, gather quotes from different logistics or freight companies. Choose the most economical carrier based on the best quote. **III. Inventory:** + Regularly assist with inventory management, ensuring products are accounted for accurately and stored in the correct locations. + Work with inventory management systems to track product levels and assist in periodic stocktaking or cycle counts. **IV. General Maintenance:** + Assist with general maintenance duties within the warehouse, ensuring that equipment and tools are functioning properly. + Report any mechanical issues or safety concerns to supervisors in a timely manner. **V. Cleaning:** + Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the warehouse by following cleaning protocols. + Ensure that all areas, including storage, shipping, and receiving spaces, are clean and organized. **VI. Backup Support for Inside Sales:** + Serve as a backup for inside sales staff when needed, assisting with customer inquiries, order processing, and other tasks as directed. **VII. Other Duties:** + Perform additional warehouse-related duties as assigned by the supervisor or management. **Qualifications:** + Proven experience operating a forklift in a warehouse environment (certification preferred). + Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. + Ability to work independently and as part of a team. + Good communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with co-workers and customers. + Basic knowledge of inventory systems and shipping/receiving procedures. + Ability to lift heavy loads and operate warehouse equipment safely. + Flexibility to work outside of regular hours, as needed. **Working Conditions:** + Warehouse environment with exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels. + Ability to lift up to [insert weight] pounds. + Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime, when necessary.
