**Job Title: Forklift Operator** **Job Description** We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to handle inbound and outbound shipments using sit-down forklifts. You will be responsible for operating Nissan forklifts equipped with 3-4 levers and a clutch pedal, handling a variety of containers and pallets, and ensuring safe and efficient transportation within the warehouse. **Responsibilities** + Operate sit-down forklifts to handle inbound and outbound shipments. + Familiarize and operate Nissan forklifts with 3-4 levers and clutch pedal. + Handle and transport products like totes, large plastic containers, metal containers, pallets, and lids. + Transport and stack containers of various sizes (3x3, 8x12, 12x20) into trailers and tight spaces. + Load trailers and stack containers evenly and correctly. + Use scanners to track products in and out of the warehouse. + Assist with general warehouse duties including sweeping, stacking, cleaning, and organizing. **Essential Skills** + 1,000 hours of sit-down forklift operation in the past 5 years. + Forklift experience within the last year. + 1+ years of shipping/receiving experience. + Ability to read and speak English. + Strong communication skills. + Proven longevity on a resume. + Reliable transportation. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience with material handling. + Experience with inventory management. + Ability to use RF scanners. **Why Work Here?** This position offers year-round employment with opportunities to stay busy and develop new skills, especially during the spring and summer. The work environment is dynamic, with forklifts in constant motion. The role requires comfort in a fast-paced setting. The shift is 1st shift: Monday through Friday, 6:00 am to 2:00 pm, with mandatory Saturdays on rotation. Safety gear such as steel-toed boots, vests, safety glasses, and gloves are required and provided. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Des Moines, Iowa. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr.
