**Job Title: Forklift Operator** **Job Description** We are seeking an experienced Forklift Operator to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to operate forklifts to move finished concrete pipes from the plant's production line into the yard for inventory and to load trucks with finished pipes for delivery to customers. During the training and/or contract period, you will also assist the production crews with cleaning the forms. **Responsibilities** + Operate forklifts to move finished concrete pipes from the production line to the yard. + Load trucks with finished pipes for delivery to customers. + Assist production crews with cleaning forms during training and/or contract period. **Essential Skills** + Experience operating forklifts, specifically between 22k-36k capacity. + Forklift certification. + 3-5 years of experience operating heavy equipment in an industrial or shipyard environment. + Experience moving product/materials weighing up to 12 tons in a timely manner. + Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience with a 4-prong lift is ideal but training can be provided for strong candidates with good work history and skills. + General labor experience. **Why Work Here?** Join our team to work on making and refurbishing pipe and precast systems for various industries such as Nuclear, Storm Drainage, Construction, and Sanitary Sewer. Shift starts at 4 am and lasts between 9-12 hours. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chesapeake, Virginia. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
