**Job Title: Forklift Operator** **Job Description** The candidate will start as a Shipper/Receiver and Order Picker for the new facility. They will be required to operate a sit-down counterbalance forklift in narrow aisles and load/unload trailers. The role involves heavy lifting up to 50 lbs. as products will be boxed produce. Strong attention to detail is needed. The candidate must be skilled in operating a sit-down counterbalance forklift and comfortable working with tall pallets for safe operation. This role includes working in banana rooms using high-reach forks to bring down pallets and loading/unloading trailers for internal transfers between buildings. They will use RF scanners and must verify all orders, with attention to detail being vital. Approximately 60% of the time will be spent on forklifts to help load and unload trailers, while the other 40% will involve manual unloading, picking products, checking paperwork for orders, breaking pallets, palletizing, and wrapping/unwrapping pallets. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential due to the significant amount of paperwork handled. The percentage of forklift operation can vary based on the day and the building they are working in. **Responsibilities** + Unload product from incoming trucks + Identify improper inventory counts and damages + Label the product correctly before storing it in designated areas + Use the RF scanner + Load orders accurately and safely in trucks as per the shipment confirmation + Manually unload products and pick items as needed + Check paperwork for orders and verify shipment accuracy + Break pallets, palletize, and wrap/unwrap pallets **Essential Skills** + 2 years of experience with sit-down counterbalance forklifts + Experience working in narrow spaces such as trailers and narrow aisles + Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs. + Strong attention to detail + Experience using RF scanners + Strong verbal and written communication skills **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + 1 year of experience with reach forklifts + Ability to work independently and be productive + 1 year of experience in a food distribution company is a plus + Experience with stand-up forklifts is nice to have **Why Work Here?** Long-term opportunity with growth and promotion potential. Limited employees have weekends off, and some overtime is expected. Each shift consists of about 30 people. The morning shift runs from 5 am to 1:30 pm, and availability on weekends is required.
