Forestry Statistics Intern

As an intern on the Forestry Statistics team, you will gain experience working as a professional statistician in a corporate research and development setting. You will work with experienced statisticians and subject matter experts to analyze data from one or more real research projects. Projects come from a wide variety of fields, including environmental science, wildlife research, forestry, and wood products manufacturing. This role requires the ability to work with complex datasets, an understanding of R programming, and a strong foundation of statistical analysis techniques.

Key Functions:
Intern roles and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

Supporting new project development with experimental designManaging project datasets, including cleaning and merging data from multiple sourcesPerforming exploratory data analysisData analysis modeling using standard methodsPreparation of graphical displays to highlight features of the data or analysis resultsPresentation of results to project team and stakeholdersWorking collaboratively with clients and project teams

Location: This position is located at the Weyerhaeuser headquarters in Pioneer Square, downtown Seattle, WA. The work schedule is hybrid, with in-office attendance required on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Remote work is allowed on Monday and Friday.
