Responsibilities Job Summary The Forensic Clinical Coordinator (FCC) fosters the implementation of evidence-based policies and processes that support best practice and clinical education in forensic nursing specialty care. The FCC is a clinical expert responsible for development and delivery of a forensic nurse examiner preceptorship program at HonorHealth that will be directly accessible to qualifying Office for Victims of Crime (OVC) grantees funded under the OVC FY 2022 Expanding Access to Sexual Assault Forensic Examinations award. The FNS applies subject matter expertise in forensic nursing and clinical preceptorships to inform and guide this work. In addition, the FNS facilitates knowledge sharing, applies their firsthand experience and draws on the broader context of the forensic nursing field to both mentor the field and to expand the depth and nuance of the TTA provided to our partners. The FCC supports the partnership and reporting requirements agreed on by HonorHealth and Internation Association of Forensic Nursing (IAFN) as a Center for Clinical Excellence in Forensic Nursing training site. Develops the center for clinical excellence in forensic nursing program and delivers standardized clinical education for the training and development of forensic nurse examiners. Collaborates with IAFN to establish a clinical program that can be replicated in other communities. Develops forensic nursing preceptor practice guidelines to share with IAFN as a framework for best practice in forensic nursing. Directs curriculum development including writing program objectives, outcomes, and competency statements. Obtains continuing education approval for clinical education and coursework related to forensic nursing. Selects appropriate learning modality and facilitates the adult learning process creating a climate which supports learning and provides timely and constructive feedback to learners. Identifies and recruits internal and external resources for educational activities. Establish pre-requisites/requirements for any grantee participating in clinical training that meets HonorHealth approved clearance for participation for training. Work with IAFN staff to develop an application process for grantees. Work with IAFN to develop a Preceptorship Learning Plan outlining the roles and responsibilities of the student, preceptor and HonorHealth including learning outcome and objectives. Coordinates clinical training logistics to ensure the student has adequate and appropriate guidance, oversite, professional supervision and learning opportunity to meet learning objectives. Ensures all students have orientation to safety and security measures of training location and are familiar with the protocols, rules and regulations of HonorHealth while supervised by HonorHealth preceptors or qualified staff. Notifies IAFN and any other appropriate personnel in a timely manner of any unsatisfactory conduct or performance by a student. Serve as the primary point of contact for IAFN on the preceptorship program as a part of the HonorHealth center for clinical excellence in forensic nursing. Understands all special conditions listed in the grant award documents and support compliance for these conditions. Complete and submit to IAFN the subaward semi-annual progress reports as required. Facilitate OVC, partner and other meetings as necessary. Complete all required documentation as a subaward recipient of the IAFN in collaboration with HonorHealth grant management team for timely submission of required grant administration reporting. Evaluates learning effectiveness through perceptual feedback tools, knowledge-based testing and skills assessment. Modifies educational opportunities as needed. Performs medical forensic examinations. Completes timely evaluation for each student and preceptor on forms required by the IAFN. Works with IAFN and other national preceptor site locations. Facilitate online education and provide education and technical assistance at IAFN’s annual conference as requested. Work with IAFN to ensure that all necessary ANCC continuing professional development documentation is completed for the preceptorship program nursing CE. Qualifications Education Bachelor's Degree Nursing Required Experience 5 years Forensic nursing clinical experience Required Licenses and Certifications Registered Nurse (RN) State And/Or Compact State Licensure Nursing License unencumbered Upon Hire Required SANE-A and SANE-P Certifications International Association of Forensic Nursing Certification Required
