Food Technician
Overview JOB SUMMARY: Conduct product development tasks as assigned by PD staff that include the coordination and operation of the pilot plant. Responsibilities ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: + Coordinates assigned aspects of pilot plant batch runs under the direction of a project leader including: ingredient procurement and prep, equipment and line prep, sample production, post-production cleaning, and completion of necessary paperwork. + Accurately prepares prototypes from kitchen sheets in a timely manner. Attends and participates in product inspections. + Accurately conducts analytical tests on samples and maintains records. Calibrates equipment on a regular schedule. + Provides appropriate documentation to support product development activities to include: kitchen batch work, formulas, process records, analytical results, project tracking, and inspection reports in an accurate and timely manner. + Supports all aspects of kitchen functionality to include operation, maintenance and sanitation of assigned equipment; inventory and storage of raw materials, ingredients and finished products and final disposition of finished product. + Performs other related and assigned duties. Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education/certification : High school and/or college related course work in food science. Experience: 2+ years of operations or lab experience with an understanding of the batching process. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of: + Batching and packaging equipment. + Compounding skills. + Basic PC word processing/ spreadsheet software + Basic Food Preparation Techniques/Safe Food Handling GMP’s + Basic Research Skills + Basic Presentation Skills Skill and ability to: + Communicate effectively verbally and in writing + Read, process and follow written direction with a high degree of accuracy + Work effectively in a general business environment, with a focus on high levels of quality and customer service PERFORMANCE CRITERIA + Productivity/ quality standards: accuracy, timeliness, thoroughness + Productivity/ quality standards: production and process efficiency and quality + HACCP and GMP compliance + Project/ assignment standards + Customer satisfaction LocationUS-GA-Conyers Job ID 2025-21032 Category Research & Development
