About the Role

The Health and Safety Manager is responsible for ensuring that The Chancery Rosewood complies with all health and safety regulations, creating a safe environment for guests, associates, and other stakeholders. This role involves developing, implementing, and monitoring health and safety policies, conducting risk assessments, and managing emergency preparedness. There is a also a strong focus on working with key stakeholders such as the kitchen and all other hotel departments, and training and monitoring others on Health and Safety matters. The role reports into the Director of Culinary.

Ensure and maintain hygiene standards as per the requirement of local authorities and EHO.Ensure and verify that the implementation of food hygiene standards within the hotel with regards to temperature control requirements, monitoring personal hygiene practices, receiving of raw materials, storage, preparation and serving, is conducted as per the required standards.Create, review, and update the hotel's health and safety policies and procedures in line with legal and industry standards.Identify hazards, assess risks, and implement measures to mitigate them.Establish and maintain vender assurance program, conduct food safety program, and conduct food safety audits in all kitchens and storage areas used for food and equipment.Develop and deliver health and safety training programs for all employees.Monitor and implement recommendations made by pest control services.Investigate, report and respond on customer complaints in respect of food hygiene and food safety as per any non-compliance report or complaint raised.Together with the relevant leaders and Stewarding team, oversee hygiene practices in all food preparation areas and housekeeping operations.Train staff on proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and emergency procedures.Prepare monthly sampling schedule, and statistical reports, and give recommendations for improvement. Actively participate, support and supervise recycling programs within the Company.Log and manage all kitchen engineering issues in the system and liaise with engineering directly.Ensure all chefs and other relevant stakeholders are scheduled for and complete mandatory training including Rosewood Core programs and Health and Safety core requirementsMaintain complete first aid boxes in all kitchen areas ensuring stock takes are conducted monthly and missing items reports to security supervisorWork with the Culinary leaders in each kitchen to maintain up to date health and safety documents including risk assessments, and Safe Systems of Work.

About you

Curious and knowledgeable about hotel health and safety, you have a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Certification in health and safety (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent) is highly desirable.A proven health and safety professional, with experience in health and safety management, preferably in a hospitality or hotel setting.A strong knowledge of health and safety regulations, risk assessment processes, and emergency procedures.An excellent communicator and trainer, with fantastic organizational, and problem-solving skills.An ability to use health and safety management software and tools.
