Food Program Coordinator

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage programs that address food insecurity, nutrition education, and cooking. Maintain food inventory, manage budget, monthly statistics, and menu creation for Kroc Center programs that involve food. Oversee Kroc Center kitchen (all appliances, safety signs, and all cleaning and cooking materials) Greet and engage guests ensuring they feel welcomed and have a positive experience. Develop & maintain Kroc Center food initiatives that address the needs of the community and guest base. Collaborate with food banks and oversee onsite food pantry & storages. Research and pursue grant opportunities in collaboration with Corps Officers. Provide food preparation and service for Kroc Center Programs, Events and Rentals. Drive, pick-up, sort, store, and distribute food donations. Maintain cleanliness of facility and conduct all mandatory safety checks. Ensure that events, programs, and activities begin, transition, and end on time. Responsible for training team members and volunteers in food safety protocol and kitchen usage. Attend community meetings as they pertain to food insecurity programs. Assist Kroc Center team with accurate and detailed work order and incident reports. Cleaning and preparation for weekend Kitchen use. Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or GED equivalency. Must have excellent customer service skills in-person, over the phone, and through digital communication. Must be able to lead and train team members and volunteers in food service and food safety protocols. Must be computer literate with proficient typing skills and the ability to use new software programs with basic training. Able to perform job functions with a proactive mindset, good organization, attention to detail, fine judgement, speed, accuracy, and poise. Self-motivated, energetic, enthusiastic, and able to maintain a self-directed schedule. Bilingual in Spanish, Arabic, Cantonese/Mandarin, or Vietnamese (preferred) Complete Salvation Army assigned training and keep current as needed. Must have a current valid driver’s license and pass the Salvation Army Motor Vehicle Record check (MVR) and drivers test. Must maintain CA Food Manager’s certification.
