Summary

Position Summary:   Responsible for preparing and delivering and picking up trays for patients, communicating pertinent information regarding menu preferences, delivering nourishments, taking inventory of floor supplies and re-supplying them to a par level. Works as team member with the patient/patient’s family, nursing, and food service support to maximize patient meal satisfaction. Practices exceptional customer service at all times. Serves as primary liaison between patients and food service operations   Essential Functions: Patient Meal Service Provides meal service to patients.   Tasks: Assist patients with verbal patient meal selections in accordance with current nutrition care order. Communicate effectively and clearly. Communicates food preferences from patient to food service department to ensure highest patient satisfaction with meal service. Communicate frequently with the patient care team for any patients who are problematic, in isolation, or incapable or menu completion for insight into known preferences or family request. Performs minor food preparation and portioning tasks in accordance with departmental policy. Demonstrates comprehensive understanding of CBORD-Room Service computerized ordering system. Demonstrate and share basic diet information with patients, or refer the dietitian for education or concerns. Demonstrate knowledge of all diets including Kosher and alternate meal options
