Floor Maintenance Attendant
Job Summary

The purpose of Environmental Services within Corewell Health is to provide our patients and their families a clean and safe environment. An Environmental Floor Maintenance Attendant is responsible for daily, routine and project cleaning and maintenance of the floors and other designated areas of the Hospital, while interacting with patients, visitors and other Hospital staff. The following description of essential duties are intended to reflect the major responsibilities and tasks of the job, other responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Essential Functions

It is essential that an Environmental Floor Maintenance Attendant be able to comfortably interact with our patients, families and visitors. Presenting with a warm smile and friendly demeanor, enabling our visitors to feel welcomed and cared for.

Responsible for the daily and routine maintenance of Hospital flooring. Cleans and maintains carpets, tile and other hard surface flooring.

Responsible for Stripping, scrubbing, refinishing and buffing hard floor surfaces (tile, linoleum, etc.,) to include associated detail work.

Shampoo/extract carpets and upholstery.

Mat care and replacement. (where required)

Detail cleaning of walls, doors, frames, kick plates, etc.

May be required to perform Environmental Attendant duties as necessary.

Daily maintenance of equipment.

Removal of trash and soiled linen. Delivery of clean linen (where required)

Stock Supplies

Environmental Attendant will be required to use appropriate chemicals and guidelines when performing tasks. Attendant will be properly trained on required tasks and provided with tools to perform assigned duties.

Required

The ability to read and follow instructions.

Preferred

Previous Floor care experience

High School Diploma or equivalent
