JOB TITLE: FLOATATION SUPERVISOR

 

We are seeking a Floatation Supervisor to join our team into the floatation business line. You will be responsible for executing Floatation supervision service activities at customer sites, providing feedback on customer satisfaction, technology / equipment / service performance and production improvement activities relating to the products being supported. 

This position is responsible for providing Metso customers with professional technical support on the floatation equipment. This position will coordinate and work closely with the FSE (Field Service) teams to ensure a common understanding of technical support and information to support and to provide excellent customer service on Metso Equipment.

The main application for this position will be that of hands-on Floatation Management on a day-to-day level focused on Service and Capex Project Support. This role will include administrative functions over and above the technical application of management skills.

 

In this position, you will report to the Field Services Manager.

This position is mainly located at the Alrode Office, Alberton.

 

TEAM YOU BELONG TO

You will join and manage a team of technicians dedicated to maintenance for reactive and preventative maintenance and repairs. We are currently conducting mechanical maintenance work of crushers, screens, floatation cells, conditioners, pumps, pipes, grinding mills, thickeners, filters, conveyors, and other crucial areas of the plant to ensure continued operation.

We work closely with internal and external stakeholders, such as Customers and Local Field Service Support teams. Our team culture is all about excellent customer service on Metso Equipment. 

 

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Work as a member of a maintenance team for reactive and preventative maintenance and repairs. Fitting and repairing floatation parts of plant machinery. Perform all work in a planned and organized manner, follow instructions and plans, and complete work as scheduled. Ensure that work performed meets all statuary requirements and company standards Housekeeping duties of the maintenance area. In cooperation with the other maintenance personnel ensure the optimization plant performance and continued development of site maintenance. Ensure a safe work environment and compliance to all SHEQ regulations and standards during the work and ensure compliance with statuary and other regulations as required by law. Continually review and where necessary suggest changes that will improve the department's occupational health, safety, quality, and efficiency performance. Other duties as directed by the FSE Manager. Maintaining safety standards within the working environment. Willingness to assist in additional reasonable tasks on hand. Maximize performance on all equipment. Complete job cards, logbooks, and inspection report.

 

WHO YOU ARE

Grade 12 (Matric) Trade tested mechanical Technician red seal. Three (3) to four (4) years apprenticeship program. Minimum 5 years field service experience on floatation equipment. Computer literate Understanding our principles of customer relations and interaction Ability to effectively communicate with a drive and performance orientation Ability to work in a team atmosphere

 

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES FOR THIS ROLE

Leadership and relationship-building qualities, a bias for action, and detail-oriented behaviors are required A self-motivated individual with the ability to work under stress and meet deadlines. Good communication, co-operation, and interpersonal skills. Strong technical, analytical, and mechanical skills and abilities. Exposure to internal and external environmental conditions, noise, hazards. Must reside within the Gauteng district. And be able to be on-site within 45 min from a breakdown callout.
