As a Maintenance Mechanic B you will report directly to the Operations Manager. The primary function of this position is to troubleshoot, remove, install, replace, re-build, repair, test parts/components on plant and production equipment.
You Will:
Keep mechanical equipment in good condition and working order
Inspect machines and equipment to locate problems, replace defective parts and make sure necessary adjustments to ensure continuing production operation
You will use manuals, repair manuals, parts manuals, parts diagrams to troubleshoot equipment.
You will use hand and power tools to remove, install, replace, re-build, repair, and responsible for testing parts/equipment.
You will use shop equipment to fabricate new or replacement parts.
You will do electrical and pneumatic work to production machines.
Perform housekeeping and sanitation tasks.
Maintain food safety and quality
Participate in process improvement efforts (ME) utilizing their maintenance expertise, to assist all teams and projects. Keep area 5S’d.
You Have:
High school diploma education or equivalent
2 – 3 years vocational tech training in machine maintenance and 3 years as packaging mechanic or 5 years experience as a packaging mechanic preferred.
Read and write English for comprehension of written assembly directions and completion of Production/QA documents
Mechanical, electrical and electronics experience including PLC’s preferred.
Familiar with and ability to use basic shop equipment, electric arc welder, basic hand tools including electric hand tools
Familiarity with electronic controls
Lift up to 100 pounds
Climb ladders and work up to 100 feet in the air
