The role you could fill:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Compliance and Corporate Lawyer to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will provide expert legal advice on corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and risk management. This role requires a strong understanding of corporate laws, regulatory frameworks, and the ability to navigate complex legal and business challenges.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Compliance matters:
• Provide expert legal advice on regulatory compliance, corporate governance, and internal controls.
• Develop, implement, and monitor compliance policies, ensuring adherence to relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Conduct legal research and stay up to date on industry regulations and legal trends affecting the business.
• Identify potential legal and regulatory risks, providing proactive solutions to mitigate exposure.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance in operations, risk management, and business practices.
• Ensure all contracts align with legal standards, the company's risk management objectives and Regulatory compliance.
• Manage and respond to regulatory inquiries, investigations, and audits.
• Prepare and present compliance reports to senior leadership, including recommendations for improvements.
• Train and educate employees on compliance and legal issues through workshops, seminars, and written materials.
Corporate Governance and transactions:
• Advise on corporate governance matters, including board matters, shareholder meetings, and compliance with securities laws.
• Provide legal counsel on M&A transactions, including due diligence, drafting, and negotiation of contracts.
• Assist in risk management and legal strategy to mitigate legal exposure.
• Support senior executives in strategic decision-making, providing clear legal guidance on corporate structuring, joint ventures, and investments.
• Manage external legal counsel as needed for specialized legal matters.
• Draft, review, and update corporate policies, charters, and governance documents to ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements.
What you bring:
• Strong knowledge of corporate governance, regulatory compliance (laws including GDPR, anti-corruption, and anti-trust / competition law), and risk management practices.
• Expertise in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating legal documents and agreements;
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities for effective collaboration with stakeholders.
Qualifications
• Master’s degree in business law (France), with a specialization in Corporate law and/or Competition law;
• 5 years of experience in a legal counsel or compliance role, preferably in Industry.
• In-depth knowledge of compliance frameworks, regulatory environments, and risk management practices.
• Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and complex legal matters in a fast-paced environment.
• High level of attention to detail and commitment to legal and ethical standards.
• Knowledge of data privacy laws, such as GDPR and other compliance regulations and standards (competition, anti-corruption, corporate Social responsibility, etc.).
• Fluent in English (both written and spoken).

We aim to make this project raising significant investments and reach rapidly a significant size with sales in excess of 2Bn. We are thinking big and fast. We will operate at the junction between electric vehicles and the digital world.
