Job Summary

Under the direction and supervision of the Operative Services Director is directly responsible for performing circulating and/or scrub nurse duties in the Operating Room; for providing nursing care to patients preoperatively, perioperatively, and postoperatively in support of care directed by the surgeon. Provide other assistance as required to the surgical team; and for acting in any nursing capacity as directed by the Operating Room Director and Coordinator.  All nursing care functions/responsibilities are based on the ANA standards Adheres to the Nursing Code of Ethics, Avera’s Mission and Avera’s Service Excellence Standards.

Education and/or Experience

Graduate of Registered Nursing Education program. 3 years of experience required.

Licensure/Certification/Registration

Minimum of one year experience in operating room nursing is preferred. Participates in educational conferences, and updates and maintains current professional clinical competency related to areas of responsibilities. Attends all mandatory hospital and departmental meetings and in-services. BLS required.

Work Schedule

Hours: Position requires 72 hours worked in a six-week schedule equating to 624 hours annually, not exceeding 1248 hours in a 12-month period. Six weekends required annually.

Pay

Flat Rate pay of $50.00 per hour
