Fleet Supervisor - Primary Distribution

Scope of the Job

We seek a highly organized, safety-conscious and experienced logistics and transportation professional to oversee the management and performance of our Autonomous Vehicle Operators (truck drivers) and local vehicle fleet. This role is critical in ensuring the efficient operation of vehicles on a complex route network, support of our customer deliveries and training / testing of new drivers, you will report to the Primary Distribution Manager & ensure repair and maintenance plan is being implemented in line with AOP and R&M budget by enabling the team to deliver efficient business results

In this role, you will uphold exceptional safety standards, optimize driver schedules, manage truck readiness and maintenance, and ensure regulatory compliance within the fleet

 

Job Responsibilities

Fleet Scheduling & Coordination: Responsible of the delivery on time orders. Assist in the allocation and dispatching of vehicles for primary distribution. Work with plant teams to coordinate vehicle availability, ensuring that delivery schedules are maintained. Maintain a centralized schedule for all fleet movements, ensuring on-time delivery and reducing delays. Oversees the drivers schedule and vacation rotations Vehicle Tracking & Monitoring: Use fleet tracking systems to monitor vehicle locations in real-time and ensure adherence to planned routes and delivery schedules. Keep track of fleet status and provide real-time updates to relevant teams about vehicle positions, delays, or other operational concerns. Maintain records of vehicle movement logs, driver schedules, and journey durations. Communication with Drivers: Serve as the point of contact for drivers, ensuring they are informed of their routes, delivery schedules, and any changes that may occur during their trips. Ensure drivers comply with company policies regarding safety and regulatory requirements. Address real-time issues such as breakdowns, delays, or road closures by liaising with drivers and the Fleet Manager to provide alternative solutions. Fuel Management: Track fuel usage for each vehicle and monitor fuel card usage to prevent fraud or excessive consumption. Generate regular reports on fuel efficiency and provide recommendations for reducing fuel costs. Documentation & Reporting: Maintain up-to-date records on all fleet activities, including driver logs, vehicle maintenance, fuel consumption, and delivery reports. Prepare reports for the Fleet Manager on fleet performance, fuel consumption, vehicle downtime, and other KPIs. Assist in the development of reports for management, focusing on improving fleet efficiency and cost reduction. Driver Selection and Onboarding: Recruit, screen, and hire qualified truck drivers, ensuring they meet all company and regulatory requirements. Conduct driver orientation, training, and ongoing performance management. Performance Monitoring: Analyze driver performance metrics and fleet data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement. Evaluate current operational performance and KPIs in assigned territory and develop an operational plan for improvements. Health & Safety: Ensure Heineken’s standards applied Support the Primary Distribution Manager in enforcing health and safety policies for drivers and fleet operations. Report and document any accidents or incidents involving fleet vehicles, ensuring proper follow-up with insurance and regulatory authorities

 

Qualifications:

 

Education, Certifications and Licenses: Bachelor degree

Knowledge and Experience:

3-5 years of experience in the area of Fleet management/distribution Advanced knowledge of SAP Basic knowledge of Safety procedures
