**Summary**
Provides daily support needed to ensure Perdue Transportation’s Fleet meets safety expectations and is in full compliance. The Fleet Safety Manager will be responsible to meet all company and legal DOT and FMCSA Commercial Driver requirements. This Manager will lead Accident and Incident review calls, assist with investigations, and provide expert opinions on causes and prevention measures. The Fleet Safety Manager will create, distribute, and ensure completeness of Company and DOT violations as well as manage it’s tracking system. The Fleet Safety Manager will play a key role in the development, relevancy, and improvement of Fleet Safety trainings provided to PTI Associates this may include Orientation, Driver Training and Re-Training, and Annual Safety Trainings. Conduct meetings with Safety Ambassadors, Drivers, and Technicians to determine areas of improvement. Complete safety site evaluations and follow through on improvements and changes needed. Act as Perdue Transportation’s expert on Safety Technology; be the resource to industry and technology advancements and work with Company Leaders to determine equipment options for purchase and/or implementation. Collaborate with Company Leaders to overcome challenges with the goal of a safer fleet every day by focusing on continuous improvement and process implementation.
**Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities**
+ Responsible for Commercial Driver compliance of FMCSA requirements.
+ Lead Accident and Incident Review calls. Assist with investigations, provide expert knowledge regarding cause, prevention, and outcomes.
+ Develop, ensure relevancy and up to date Safety trainings including but not limited to: Orientation, Driver Training and Re-training, Post Accident / Incident, and Annual Safety trainings. Facilitate training sessions: in-person, video conference, tablet, or video.
+ Complete site safety evaluations, design and implement improvement plans (device or improvement, budget and approval).
+ Partner with Leadership and Vendors to design, purchase, and adopt the latest safety devices, practices, and information in our fleet. I.E.: safety equipment, Behavior Based practices, technology, etc.
+ Manages, creates, and updates content, conducts testing and training, updates certifications of policies, and processes. Assigns roles and permissions of vehicle and driver electronic information and technology solutions (Samsara, DriveCam & J.J. Keller/Data Sense). Driver file management including DOT compliance, regulated, and safety related forms. In addition, creates queries and reports based on these Fleet IT systems.
+ Manages Vehicle Onboard Video Monitoring Recorders Management & Electronic Logging Device (ELD) software and system integration.
+ Establishes and maintains up-to-date Fleet Safety functional documentation, audits standard operating procedures, as well a comprehensive Fleet Safety reports library.
+ Acts as a liaison between Leadership, IT group & fleet safety vendors. Participates in the testing of new reports, processes, etc. and provides testing results to appropriate resources. Actively participates and makes contributions in team meetings, one-on-one meetings and corporate level PR driver functions.
+ Leads and provides oversight for: D.Q.; Drug/Alcohol; DOT Physicals; Driver Hiring/Employment, DOT compliance for end users.
+ Manages Fleet Safety databases, fleet audit data, DOT/FMCSA; Management Information Systems (MIS) & Violations data and conducts fleet related training by CS&S.
+ Manages cell phone and seatbelt policy violations, performance improvement processes, and driver accountability.
+ Assist with maintaining the Corporate Fleet Safety SharePoint site & Fleet intranet page and testing system enhancements and fixes of related systems/processes.
+ This position will also provide support as directed by the Corp. Director Fleet Safety and Sr. Dir. Safety & Security
**Education and Experience**
**REQUIRED:**
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Technologies, Office Administration or related field plus 0 – 2 years related work experience or in the absence of a bachelor’s degree, total work experience equals 8 years. Requires some formal computer training in Information Systems including Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access, Outlook), SharePoint, etc. Must have functional working database experience. Must have advanced personal computer skills. Requires analytical skills. Requires an overall understanding of fleet safety resources, roles and functions. Requires strong interpersonal skills, ability to prioritize work, excellent organizational skills and initiative to improve processes. Requires the ability to communicate with technical and non-technical users. Must be self-directed and position will require periodic overnight travel as dictated on the business needs of the company.
**PREFERRED:**
A working knowledge of the Company and DOT/FMCSA regulations. It would be helpful for the successful candidate to have a CDL License.
**Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements**
+ Position is mostly sedentary but may require occasional moving to other offices or buildings.
+ Must be able to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 lbs.
+ May need to access files, supplies and equipment.
+ Work activity is generally in an office environment.
+ Travel required.
+ Work in an outside environment with exposure to extreme weather conditions, dust, exhaust, etc.
+ Work in a garage environment with tools, moving parts, and equipment.
**Compensation**
The salary range for this position is $84,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year, based on experience and qualifications with annual bonus available (variable depending on performance).
