Job Overview:

The Fleet Mechanic is responsible for assisting the department in performing skilled preventative maintenance, repair, outfitting and servicing of a variety of company automobiles.

Qualifications:

Required:

High School Diploma or GEDMust be at least 18 years of ageDriver s license record check and criminal background checkASE CertificationMust possess minimum certifications of A-4 and A-5 at time of employmentFord diesel and/or prior ambulance/emergency vehicle experience Experience in electrical, air conditioning, heating, braking systems, suspension and power train systems including diagnosis and repair

Preferred:

3- 5 years of verifiable experience as a mechanic CEVO or equivalent certification for driving

Certifications and Licenses Required:

ASE CertificationMust possess minimum certifications of A-4 and A-5 at time of employment

Scheduling Requirements:

Full-Time, Days40 hours per week

Essential Functions:

Conducts self in a professional, dignified and compassionate manner at all timesExcellent verbal and written communication skills.Maintains a professional demeanor and appearance during all interactions.Ensures that all Policies and Procedures are followedResponsible for maintenance of required certifications in accordance with Mobile Health policies and all applicable State and Federal statutes and regulationsAttends quarterly in - service to maintain EMS competencies and receive policy and procedure additions and/or updatesResponsible for baseline and continuing knowledge of Mobile Health policies and procedures and all applicable State and Federal statutes and regulationsInteracts professionally with management, colleagues from other EMS agencies, public safety personnel and other healthcare providers and members of the publicTakes appropriate measures to work within established budgetsResponsible for completing repairs, adjustments and preventative maintenance service and checks on ambulances and other Mobile Health vehicles in accordance with prescribed PM policies and proceduresOperates Mobile Health vehicles safely and professionally, in compliance with all laws and rules governing same, and Mobile Health standards for emergency vehicle operations policyResponsible for the accurate documentation of all services and repairsResponsible for alerting the Fleet Manager of any suspected or confirmed abuse of company vehicles/equipmentResponsible for determining if reported failures are the result of improper operations by crew members, material defects, normal wear or other causesResponds to roadside calls as neededMaintains a thorough working knowledge of Corporate Policies & Procedures and Departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's)Assumes other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Management.

$36.85 Hourly Base Salary
