Job Aim: To lead, develop, and advise on the successful implementation of the Fleet and CDE strategy and business plan. This includes supporting initiatives to ensure the Company complies with all statutory requirements and aligns with strategic priorities for long-term growth. The focus will be on leveraging scale and building fundamental capabilities in processes, systems, and people.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Job Accountabilities:

 

Business Planning & Initiatives: Develop and deliver effective fleet and CDE strategies and business plans, supporting implementation through engagement, reporting, and policy enhancements. Fleet and CDE Management: Monitor fleet utilization, manage outsourced services, and ensure optimal system functioning and processes. Lead team members according to CCBA Group Procurement principles. Fleet Maintenance: Allocate resources for maintenance and repairs, monitor downtime, develop preventative maintenance procedures, and manage outsourced contracts. Contract Management: Engage stakeholders in procurement planning, monitor contractor performance, and manage vendor relationships. Operational Support: Optimize asset returns, track financial and performance indicators, manage vehicle orders and inventory, and provide tools and reports to enhance productivity. Team Leadership: Set clear goals, manage team performance and development, ensure employee engagement, and encourage innovative problem-solving.

 

Skills, Experience & Education

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum requirement: Mechanical Engineering or Technical Degree or equivalent recognised qualification in Logistics Added advantage: Transport and Logistics Qualification. 10 years Logistics experience, preferably managing fleet workshops. >7 years workshop or relevant management experience. Advanced knowledge and understanding of FMCG logistics and fleet management systems and processes. Sound understanding of Road Transport and related legislation Sound understanding of cooler design, efficiency and environmental conditions affecting operation. General Distribution and fleet management and processes Distribution and fleet performance measures Warehouse management and processes Warehouse performance measures Lean management Execution, planning and schedule control Project management and change management Problem solving techniques Planning and organising Sound financial acumen
