Venturi, LLC A Chenega Company has an exciting opportunity for a **Flatbed Truck Driver** who will pickup and deliver new, used, and/or salvage vehicles, communicate with customers and dispatchers, and completef all necessary paperwork. This employee is committed to the following: meeting performance goals; ensuring safe and damage-free vehicle transport; performing minor mechanical functions for the proper operation of the flatbed truck he/she will operate; ensuring company vehicles safely comply with all safety regulations and licensing requirements; and maintaining equipment and accessories in good condition. In addition to vehicle transport duties, the driver may be assigned yard attendant or loader operator functions as needed with the primary focus on safety. We actively strive to channel our highly-engaged employee’s knowledge, critical thinking, and innovative solutions for our clients. **Responsibilities** + Serve as the lead driver of a flatbed truck, as Venturi’s primary fina- mile transportation vehicle asset, in support of a large, multi-year Government contract that requires the management, oversight, delivery, and disposition of used, discarded, and/or salvage-level vehicles to support a Government public safety officer training program. + Help support the management of a secure storage facility housing an inventory of vehicles designated for use in the program. + Support the Logistics Coordinator in automobile auctions during the negotiation and acquisition of vehicles designated for use by Venturi in the Government program. + Help the Logistics Coordinator manage the inventories of vehicles stored in the Venturi facility, ensuring they are ready for final-mile delivery to the program site, and as they return from program training and are staged for final disposition. + Support the Logistics Coordinator as the local area lead for Venturi and as the primary initial point of communication and support to the local area Government client. + Help foster and support a positive, collaborative work environment. + Support the preparation of program related contract deliverables, such as monthly and/or quarterly program reports. + Help maintain positive and consistent communication with external vendors and organizers. + Help maintain a clean and safe working environment. + Possess a clean driving record. + Safely operate the assigned vehicle(s) with proper logistics equipment, including safety tie downs, straps, and other devices needed to securely load and transport vehicles, vehicle components, and other designated items. + Plan safe and efficient driving routes. + Meet origination departure, stopover, and destination (i.e., vehicle pickup, delivery) driving timelines within predetermined timeframes. + Monitor road conditions and watch for traffic congestion. + Follow all applicable traffic laws. + Drivers must keep a detailed log of travel departure and arrival times, mileage driven, and sleep hours to document that they have complied with the regulations set in place by the Department of Transportation. + Ensure truck has ample fuel, is regularly cleaned, and operates safely and effectively. + Report to the Logistics Coordinator any incidents encountered on the road. + Inspect the truck’s equipment, including the flatbed, winch, and other components, before and after the trip. Record and document any defects. + Follow legal, insurance-related, and safety-related accident procedures if an accident occurs. + Report serious mechanical problems to the Logistics Coordinator and/or the AOR Logistics Program Manager. + Other duties as assigned. **Qualifications** + High School diploma or equivalent. + Minimum 1-2 years of flatbed truck hauling experience. + Must be 21+ Possess a Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). + ASE Entry-level (or higher) Certification. + Possess a clean driving record. **Preferred Experience:** + 1+ years of industry experience is preferred. + Be an effective and positive communicator. + Vehicle sales, vehicle maintenance, and/or strong knowledge of and experience working in the vehicle industry is preferred. + Facility management knowledge, skills, and experience is highly desired. + Highly desirable personal/professional skills include positive and inspiring communication skills; great with managing and tracking information and data; excellent safe driving skills; safety awareness skills. **Collateral Duties:** + Support to Logistics Coordinator, as needed, in the following duties: Auctions Support; Inventory Management; and Facilities Management (assisting in maintaining a clean and safe working environment) **Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:** + Excellent spoken and written communication skills **How you’ll grow** At Chenega MIOS, our professional development plan focuses on helping our team members at every level of their careers to identify and use their strengths to do their best work every day.
