Compensation Range

Hourly: $26.25 - $45.45 (Amount based on relevant experience, skills, and competencies.)

About This Job

The main purpose of this job is to ensure adherence to Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)/Anti-Money Laundering (AML)/Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) statutes and regulations and the Commerce Bank BSA/AML/OFAC Policy. Assure adherence to applicable regulations and business line policies and procedures. Review and analyze data to form conclusions and perform other tasks to positively impact regulatory outcomes.

Essential Functions

Manage, update, and complete the annual Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)/Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Risk Assessment process

Assist in preparation for internal audits and regulatory examinations by managing the gathering of requested documentation

Foster and maintain relationship between Financial Intelligence Units (FIUs) and various lines of business whose products and policies have a direct impact on the bank’s BSA/AML/Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) risk. Including, but not limited to, advising on the development of new or updated line of business programs.

Develop and distribute impact analysis related to regulatory Enforcement Actions

Manage and maintain FIUs adherence to 311 Special Measures guidance

Act as the FIU’s representative on issues related to the bank’s front-end Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) processes

Perform Quality Control reviews on AML and Corporate Investigations cases that necessitate Suspicious Activity Report (SAR) filings, as needed

Develop and perform Quality Control processes to ensure AML and external business line policies and procedures are being followed, as needed

Assist in analyzing and updating Commerce’s BSA/AML/OFAC Policy

Assist in preparation of management reports, as needed

Assess the impact of potential customers on BSA/AML/OFAC risk as needed or requested

Prepare and distribute statistical reports as needed or requested

Develop and review bank-wide regulatory training as it pertains to BSA/AML/OFAC

Facilitate and update annual Board training as it pertains to BSA/AML/OFAC

Complete annual Wolfsberg update and respond to program verification requests from external relationships

Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

Extensive knowledge of BSA/AML/OFAC statutes/regulations/changes and their potential impact on Commerce’s BSA/AML/OFAC Policy

Excellent reading and comprehension skills

Motivated and organized self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities

Inquisitive, agile, and strong team player with excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

Ability to remain adaptable and resilient to all situations with an optimistic outlook and cast a positive shadow that is aligned with our culture and Core Values

Advanced level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook  

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Audit/Accounting, Criminal Justice, or Business Administration or equivalent combination of education and experience required

6+ years banking and/or investigations experience in Compliance, Audit, Deposit Operations, or retail banking required

Experience with FinTechs and emerging technologies preferred

Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) certification preferred

At Commerce, compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each situation. A reasonable estimate of the current base pay is $26.25 to $45.45 per hour.
