A Typical Day
Pennymac is seeking a highly accomplished and visionary FVP, Creative Director responsible for the overall creative direction and quality of original productions for the Pennymac brand with a specific focus on video, OTT and social content. The CD will ensure all work aligns with strategies, taps into customer insights, is consistent across all consumer touchpoints, and delivers a best-in-class experience.This is a hands-on Creative Director (CD) role with responsibility from initial creative ideas through content production and activation through all channels. This pivotal role demands a seasoned creative leader with a deep understanding of both the art and science of video production, from groundbreaking conceptualization to flawless technical execution and distribution across platforms. You will be responsible for overseeing creative initiatives, ensuring they not only meet our brand standards and objectives but also captivate and engage our diverse audiences across various digital storytelling platforms. + Visionary Leadership: Deliver big creative ideas that break-through in a cluttered, competitive landscape. The Creative Director is a player and a coach; will develop original content and also manage agencies, internal teams and other creative resources. Develop and articulate a compelling video strategy that aligns with the company's overall marketing and communications goals, particularly in support of our Olympic partnership, original digital series, consumer and philanthropic initiatives.
+ Creative Direction & Execution: Lead the creative development of video content, including but not limited to brand storytelling, consumer and partner marketing campaigns, educational content, social media videos, and internal communications. Responsible for art direction including quality and curation of assets such as video and photography. Responsible for video content strategy, writing quality and editorial oversight of video content. Creative direct and supervises all partner agencies and teams for execution and delivery of creative. Oversee all stages of video production, from initial concept development, writing and storyboarding through filming, editing, motion graphics, sound design, and final delivery.
+ Technical Expertise: Possess a strong understanding of video production technologies, equipment, software, and best practices to ensure high-quality and efficient production workflows.
+ AI and Emerging Technology : Candidate is deeply invested in the evolving landscape of video, relentlessly curious about emerging technologies, and actively experiments with AI tools to push creative boundaries and drive innovative storytelling. Remain abreast of the latest trends and innovations in video production, digital media, and content marketing.
+ Team Management & Collaboration: Lead and mentor internal video team members and effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, communications, social media, and external agencies.
+ Budget Management: Develop and manage video production budgets, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within allocated resources.
+ Vendor Management: Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with external production companies, freelancers, and other video-related vendors.
+ Brand Guardianship: Ensure all video content adheres to brand guidelines, maintains a consistent tone and voice, and elevates the overall brand image.
+ Performance Analysis: Understand the performance of creative content, identifying key insights and recommending data-driven strategies for optimization and future content creation. · Use data and relevant metrics to evaluate customer feedback, engagement, website usage patterns, etc. to continually improve and enhance Pennymac’s marketing impact and efficacy
What You’ll Bring
+ Bachelor's degree in Film Production, Digital Media, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
+ Minimum of 10+ years of progressive experience at an agency or in-house creative team; focus in video production, with a significant portion in a creative leadership role.
+ Entertainment and/or sport experience preferred but not required
+ Proven track record of developing and executing successful strategies and campaigns that drive engagement and achieve business objectives.
+ A strong portfolio showcasing strategic and conceptual thinking, visual design and storytelling
+ Deep understanding of all aspects of video production, including pre-production, shooting, lighting, sound, editing, motion graphics, and post-production workflows.
+ Understanding of industry-standard video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci) and familiarity with motion graphics software (e.g., Adobe After Effects).
+ A passion for visual storytelling and an understanding of how video can be used to connect with audiences on an emotional level.
+ Experience working with digital platforms and understanding of video optimization for various online and OTT channels.
+ A proven ability to turn insights and customer behavior into culture-driving, business-building creative ideas
+ Experience building, implementing and maintaining brand systems, ideally at the corporate level
+ Ability to effectively communicate and present (sell-in) ideas and solutions to senior leaders across the organization by utilizing strong business acumen, data, facts and emotion
+ Excellent creative instincts with a proven understanding of copy, design, photography, video, content strategy, user experience and a broad variety of digital mediums
+ Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and matrixed environment
+ Highly collaborative creative sensibility with the ability to be open minded to feedback as well as provide motivating feedback to others in order to elevate creative execution
+ Entertainment and/or sport experience preferred but not required
+ Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
+ Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
+ Experience managing budgets and working with external vendors.
+ Experience in a corporate environment is a plus.

Compensation: Individual salary may vary based on multiple factors including specific role, geographic location / market data, and skills and experience as defined below:
+ Lower in range - Building skills and experience in the role
+ Mid-range - Experience and skills align with proficiency in the role
+ Higher in range - Experience and skills add value above typical requirements of the role
Some roles may be eligible for performance-based compensation and/or stock-based incentives awarded to employees based on company and individual performance.
