Job Summary: A Fire Sprinkler Designer is responsible for using computer-aided design (CAD) to create detailed drawings and layouts, calculate dimensions and material requirements. The designer’s role is to assist in the creation of functional and well-designed products and structures by translating design concepts into accurate technical plans.
Pay Range: $32.00/hour - $44.00/hour
Key Responsibilities:
Create detailed designs of fire sprinkler systems using specialized computer-aided design (CAD) software packages that are based on the AutoCAD platform. Coordinate sprinkler system piping with other building components. Perform hydraulic calculations. Read and interpret construction documents, including drawings, specifications, and contracts. Interpret and apply applicable NFPA standards to the design and/or layout of the sprinkler systems based on the building type, construction type, hazard classifications, and architectural features. Communicate with AHJs, contractors, and other trades. Coordinate with team members for listing of required materials. Coordinate with team members for permitting and inspection requirements. Actively participate in predesign and review meetings. Identify opportunities for cost-saving measures and quality improvement. Adhere to company safety policies and procedures to ensure all duties are performed in a safe and professional manner. Provide outstanding customer service. Other duties as assigned.
