Roles are remote/home-based and needed in Northern England/Scotland, the Midlands and South of England, and you may on occasion need to travel further afield, including to Defence overseas locations.

Working remotely, using MS Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Teams) along with Capita’s Assure FRA system to forecast, plan and manage an ongoing programme of FRA visitsTravelling to a wide range of Defence sites across the region (a vehicle is provided)Planning an efficient programme, taking into account workload and travel times/distancesManaging your time effectively to ensure that monthly targets for FRA delivery are met, including writing-up and issuing to the customer to required timescalesEngaging with Defence Heads of Establishment (Responsible Persons), and their teams, to plan and conduct effective visits, including face-to-face briefings on key findingsApplying fire safety legislation and guidance, along with relevant Defence and Service policy, to deliver FRAs and fire safety adviceKeeping a continuous professional development (CPD) portfolio, to maintain and develop competence and deliver a professional service to our client, customers and the Defence communityWhat we’re looking for:
Recognised fire safety training and qualificationsPractical experience of FRA deliveryCompetent IT userGood communicator, face-to-face and via email/report writingWell organised, able to plan and manage your own workload without close supervisionTarget driven – committed to meeting/exceeding targetsCommitment to quality – able to maintain a high standard of FRA outputDesirable:
Professional fire safety certification/registration (e.g. IFE, IFSM)Possession of the Skills for Justice Level 4 Certificate in Fire Safety (Fire Auditors)Experience/training in fire investigations and/or fire resilience (property protection) risk assessmentsFire Risk Assessors operating on the Defence Estate must hold the Defence Level 4 Certificate in Fire Safety or the Skills for Justice Level 4 Certificate in Fire Safety (Fire Auditors). Successful applicants not holding either of these qualifications will be required to attend and pass the Defence fire safety course.
