Fire Protection (NICET II)
**Purpose and Scope:** Inspect, operate, maintain, and repair all fire detection systems including those for cooking operations IAW UFC 3-601-02, NFPA 72, NFPA 25, NFPA 96 and UFC 3-600-01 on Ascension Island Auxiliary Airfield in support of the Air Force Contract Augmentation Program (AFCAP). **Essential Responsibilities:** + Inspect, test, maintain, and replace fire detection systems IAW the latest edition of the UFC-3-601-02. + Inspect and test on kitchen hood fire suppression systems and ducts and attach service tags IAW NFPA 96 and UFC 3-601-02. + Respond to all fire alarm detection system impairments. + Participate in preliminary and final acceptance testing for all fire detection systems. + Submit written reports of all fire alarm system problems, repairs, and test results. + Analyze each false fire detection alarm and determine the root cause. **Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:** + High school diploma or equivalent training/experience. + Must be NICET II qualified per UFC-3-601-02. + Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a similar duty position. + Ability to read and write English is required. + Solid communications skills, strong interpersonal skills. + Strong ability to work as a member of a diverse, dynamic team. + Outstanding problem-solving skills and sound judgment. + Possess a valid driver’s license and passport. + Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain requirements for duration of deployment. + Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. Note: US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location. + Must be a USN to fill this position. + Prefer candidate who has experience working on a US Government contract. **Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:** + This position will be exposed to products of fire to include heat, smoke, toxic fumes, and gasses. + Basic physical requirements include walking, bending, stooping, stretching, climbing, running, and lifting to 100 pounds. + Must be able to perform job tasks at any place on the Aerial Ladder from minimal extension to full extension. + Living and working conditions at the assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable. + Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions. + Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions. + Ability to travel domestically and internationally. **OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES** **Safety** - Amentum enforces a safety culture whereby all employees have the responsibility for continuously developing and maintaining a safe work environment.
