**Fire Alarm Technician Assistant (Helper)** **Job Description** Aerotek is seeking a motivated candidate to join our client as a **Fire Alarm Technician Assistant** , working alongside a CFAA licensed fire alarm technician to service multiple building sites in the Ottawa area. This role involves performing regular checks on fire safety equipment and assisting in maintenance and repair tasks. **Responsibilities** + Work alongside a licensed fire alarm technician as an assistant - to service building sites in Ottawa. + Perform regular scheduled checks on fire extinguishers, fire hoses, and emergency lights. + Document and schedule repair maintenance for non-functional equipment. + Assist in troubleshooting and repairing fire alarm systems. + Climb ladders and scaffolding as part of training and job requirements. + Respond to emergency maintenance requests as needed. **Essential Skills** + Experience in fire alarm installation and troubleshooting- schooling considered! + Ability to climb ladders and scaffolding. + Capability to lift up to 50lbs of equipment. + Minimum 6 months of experience performing checks and repairs on fire equipment. + **Valid G driver's license.** + Strong communication and people skills. + Diploma in electrical systems or electronics is an asset (not required with 6 months of experience. + Ability to read basic schematic drawings to trace electrical issues is an asset. **Why Work Here?** + Open to new graduates from electrical/electronic diploma programs! + Valuable work experience for those in the industry! + Well-known company and great opportunity to learn. **Job Details** + Work at different business sites in the Ottawa area from Monday to Friday, alongside a licensed technician. + Daily duties involve on-site checks and maintenance of fire safety equipment. + Pay: $18-$25/hour (based on relevant work experience) + Schedule: Monday to Friday, day shift. + Locations vary based on schedule - will be required to drive company vehicle to different sites (within Ottawa) and conduct regular inspections on fire extinguishers, hoses, lights, etc. If you have the relevant education or work experience, this is an amazing opportunity to further your skills and add a great company name to your resume!
