The purpose of this position is for students to gain exposure to financial counseling, primarily by assisting our center in its efforts to promote greater financial awareness. The learning objectives of this position will include: 1. Creating and presenting personal finance content in person and digital media 2. Marketing and awareness campaigns for the Financial Wellness Center 3. Monitoring communication channels 4. Data analysis and reporting 5. Relevant training in personal finance topics 6. One on one financial counseling sessions with students with supervision and evaluation This internship is work-study eligible. As a result, students have the opportunity to participate in the creation of campus culture, collaboratively working alongside professional staff, student leaders, and academic partners. . **Responsibilities** **Job duties Include, but are not necessarily limited to:** + Enhance personal financial knowledge through training and individual research/study. + Assist in event planning and interdepartmental coordination for workshops and campus-wide events (and subsequent assessment). + Teach financial curriculum to students and groups around campus. + Manage tabling events during orientations and campus-wide events. + Contribute creative ideas and edit office social media pages, newsletters, and blogs. + Maintain front-desk administrative responsibilities, including but not limited to: responding to calls and emails, scheduling appointments, and updating contact sheets and reports. + Distribute and continually update marketing resources around campus. + Participate in the peer mentor Money Cab Program. + Professionally interact with students and faculty on a daily basis. **Minimum Qualifications** + Student at the University of Utah (preferably in the School of Business, Humanities, or Social and Behavioral Sciences) + Applicant must possess the ability to communicate clearly and effectively through written and verbal means, be outgoing, self-motivated, detail-oriented, creative, and organized + Ability to comfortably work with others and maintain confidentiality + Foundational knowledge base of personal financial issues, topics, and concepts + This internship is work-study eligible.
