Job Description

My client, a dynamic investment firm is seeking a Financial Manager to join their team based in Cape Town. This role encompasses accounting responsibilities for both the investment manager and the funds under management, including daily fund accounting and collaboration with third-party service providers to ensure accurate financial reporting. The successful candidate will also be involved in treasury management, compliance, investor reporting, and broader management oversight, playing a key role in supporting the firm's financial operations and strategic objectives. 

Responsibilities:

Portfolio Accounting & Reconciliation – Maintain accurate records of portfolio holdings, ensuring timely reconciliation at month-end Compile and distribute daily portfolio summaries, month-end reports, and quarterly investor performance updates Treasury Management Fund Oversight – Work closely with the fund administrator and depositary to generate formal financial reports and ensure compliance Interest & Fee Validation – Review interest calculations performed by Operations Analysts to verify accuracy  Liaise with external auditors to manage the annual audits of the funds
Investment Manager Accounting: Third-Party Accounting Oversight – Supervise and review the work of the external accounting firm, ensuring accuracy and completeness Prepare monthly financial reports and support annual budget development Regulatory & Compliance – Assist with monitoring, reporting to regulators, and ensuring adherence to compliance procedures Accounts Payable & General Support – Manage vendor invoices, ensure payments are processed, and assist with ad-hoc financial task

Requirements:

CA(SA) Minimum 5 experience in the financial services industry Previous experience working within the Fund Administration space
