Financial Manager, Dean's Office Operations

The School of Medicine is currently accepting applications for Financial Manager, Dean’s Office Operations.  This position leads financial oversight, reporting, and budgeting processes for all Dean’s Office areas, which collectively have an annual budgeted spend of over $100 million. This position has two direct reports.

Specific responsibilities include:

Leading the monthly financial analysis process for Dean’s Office units and evaluating unit feedback.Consolidating unit feedback into a thoughtful executive summary that captures the overall variances for executive leaderships.Leading quarterly financial meetings with Senior Associate Deans that focus on the operational impact of the financial variances and forecasted results for the year.Leading the budget process, including the review of unit-level detail and extending to preparation of analyses for leaders at varying levels of detail.Leading the oversight and coordination of ETF utilization in the School.Preparing the monthly corporate org variance and cash analysis.Onboarding new managers in DO areas including promoting best practices related to monthly financial reports, preparing variance comments, etc.Leading regular education sessions and trainings for DO managers related to budget, financial analysis, etc.Providing ad hoc financial analysis, deep-dives and support to the Dean’s Office, including the SOM BI team. This may be for information broader than the School of Medicine Dean’s Office including BI Portal data validation, DAR data validation or any other leadership analysis needed.

This position will remain open until filled. This is an Exempt level, benefited position. This position will not sponsor applicants for work visas. Education: Bachelor's degree
Experience: Five years of experience.
Licensure: None

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

Education: Master's degree

Experience: Experience managing finances in an academic setting (fund management) and experience managing a team

Licensure: CPA



PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. This position is eligible for hybrid work but will need to come on-site for certain meetings with leadership.
