**JOB TITLE:** Financial Controller - MEA **DEPARTMENT** : Finance **REPORTING TO** : Finance Director - MEA **ADDITIONAL INFO** + The Company financial year end is 31st of December. Limited leave may be granted at key points in the annual financial calendar + Overtime might be required during month ends and other key points in the annual financial calendar + Estimated Travel: <10% + Revenue Responsibility: $50m - $100m + Total Reports (Direct and Indirect): circa 12 + Fluent English required **PURPOSE OF POSITION** This position is for a Financial Controller managing the Financial Accounting team in the MEA Region of Gilbarco Veeder Root. Currently the team provides full accounting services for 5 - 10 entities across the region. The Financial Controller will supervise a team consisting of accountants and clerks (directly and through other managers) helping to ensure a strong control environment whilst delivering first class service levels to their business partners. This role will assume responsibility for providing clear risk analysis and Balance Sheet management, ensuring compliance to local, US GAAP and government regulations. Further there will be opportunity to influence the strategic direction of the team, constructing business case scenarios to support increased scope of services and/or entities, including the development of robust service level agreements (SLAs) with internal customers and with any third party service providers. This role is a leadership position, providing support, mentoring, and coaching to a motivated team with a goal to add to the talent pipeline for Finance functions within the Vontier Group. This role is a feeder role for the MEA Finance Director position and similar roles within the GVR and Vontier Global business. **KEY RESPONSIBILITIES** **Financial Management** + To contribute and participate in Management and policy decisions affecting the Company, having particular regard to the accuracy of the financial records. + To plan, direct and review centralized accounting, cash management and risk management policies and procedures. + To review and where necessary, recommend revisions to policy + Managing Group Accounting & Treasury functions. + Manage creditors function. + To develop, monitor and revise policies regarding compliance to Taxation legislation. + Managing financial reporting and preparation for year-end consolidated accounts. + Develop and manage Strategic Risk Management Programmes, including co-ordinating development of Policies, Strategies and Programme Evaluations. + Ensure an effective Division’s organization design with a professional and competent team. **Financial Strategy** + Responsible for strategic planning.To quantify operational intentions, to interpret the financial implications thereof, and to estimate funding and administrative resource requirements. + To review and analyse achievements in terms of strategic objectives and budgets. + Interacting and Managing Key Stakeholders. + Evaluating and implementing systems and processes to enhance Business efficiencies, aligned to Strategic objectives. + To implement strategies to maximize positive Cash Inflows as relates to Rand and Foreign Bank Accounts. **Staff Management** + To manage the output of staff members within the finance department. + To liaise between Divisions in order to facilitate smooth interaction and problem solving. + To review the performance of staff in order to develop and maintain staff at a level which is qualitatively and quantitatively consistent with the company requirements for account and administration. + To regularly review staff performance and recommend that good staff are well remunerated and poor performance is corrected. + To ensure that Management intentions are communicated to Finance staff. + To ensue staff achieve all deadlines. + To ensure staff adhere to company policy and procedures. **Reporting** + To collate and analyze monthly results and report to management and Group with high degree of accuracy within agreed monthly deadlines. **Year – end reporting:** + Management of the year end and audit process. + Detailed examination of all financial records, prior to financial year end and report thereon. + Finalisation of statutory financial statements for legal entities **Capital Expenditure** + Management of all capital expenditure and disposal requests with regard to approved capital budget. **Insurance** + Manage the company’s insurance portfolio. + Annual insurance declarations. + Liaise with insurance brokers in regards to all claims and insurance matters. **Treasury** + Management of the treasury function including relationship with primary bankers. + Management of the company’s reserve bank applications. + Ad Hoc assignments such as due diligence evaluations and post investments audits. **Risk Management and Governance** + Management of all internal audits + Ensure compliance with policies and procedures + Develop effective processes and procedures were required to enhance financial hygiene and accuracy of accounting information **PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE** **Education/** **achievements** **Required** + Tertiary level education + Registered Chartered Accountant (South Africa) **Preferred** + Registered Chartered Accountant (South Africa) **Experience/** **Knowledge** **Required** + 5 - 8 Years Financial Accounting, Financial Reporting and Controlling + IFRS + Auditing (process and control) + Managing remote teams **Preferred** + US GAAP + SOX **Specific Skills** + High attention to detail and accuracy with methodical working methods + Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint & Excel + Excellent communication skills + Strong written and spoken English + Customer focussed + Ability to work without supervision, under pressure and meet strict deadlines + Ability to be flexible and agile in a high-pressure environment + Problem solver + SAP Business 1 + Hyperion (HFM) **Potential Skills** + Ability and aspiration to progress through to other senior finance roles Gilbarco Veeder-Root represents the leading brands of solutions and technologies that provide convenience, control, and environmental integrity for retail fueling and adjacent markets.
