The role of Financial Consultant focuses on client financial analysis and solution development. The Financial Consultant is well-versed in accounting principles and financial modeling and can link analysis results with potential reinsurance solutions for our clients in South America. The Financial Consultant function is part of the Client Management organization within the Regional Centre South America, and the position is located in our offices in Bogotá.


YOUR JOB

Perform Industry & Market Analyses:Evaluate industry trends and market research to supplement and lay the groundwork for client financial analyses.Analyze the insurance cycle, identify indicators, and define relevance for Munich Re's current strategy.Stay current on regulations and supervisory recommendations relevant to Munich Re and our clients.Track developments and latest trends in the financial and capital markets and with respect to significant M&A transactions within the industry and pass on the respective information to relevant stakeholders.Perform Financial Analyses of Clients (Assessment & Prognosis):Conduct profitability analyses of client contracts and compare with the overall direction of the greater portfolio.Identify business opportunities for Munich Re by performing detailed analyses of the client's balance sheet, income statement, and other financial information.Perform analyses to evaluate the clients' business, operating and financial situation and its position with respect to relevant regulatory KPI’s, e.g., solvency.Assess and evaluate client's risk profile, financial strength ratings and rating capital where applicable.Evaluate Products & Develop Reinsurance Solutions:Work closely with the Client Managers to improve the client experience.Perform impact analyses of existing reinsurance programs and develop proposals for future development.Generate ideas (based on analyses) for reinsurance solutions that match the clients' needs and support its financial management objectives.Evaluate possible risk transfer solutions for the client by analyzing traditional and non- traditional reinsurance products.Quantitatively and qualitatively compare reinsurance solutions to other financial products (such as loans, debt, equity,…) and evaluate their fit into the clients’ corporate finance framework and strategyParticipate in Client Meetings, External & Internal Events:Translate analytical findings and ideas for reinsurance solutions into high-quality client presentations and client pitches.Development of adequate support material for client managers, e.g. client profiles, documentation of client strategies and the subsequent conclusions for Munich Re, presentations for marketing events, etc.Development of presentations and trainings for other external and internal business partners.Actively participate in development of client projects and initiatives.

YOUR PROFILE

University degree or equivalent preferably in Economic Sciences (knowledge of economics, accounting, financial reporting, etc.), Finance, Mathematics, Actuary or commercial training with approximately 5 years of relevant working experience.Broad knowledge of the financial services industry, preferably with a focus on reinsurance / primary insurance and / or capital markets.Strong analytical skills and business acumen. Ability to translate data into relevant business insights.Good project management and time management skills.Good communication skills with staff at all levels in different countries; interpersonal and problem solving skills are vital.Good presentation skills. Ability to present ideas / thoughts / solutions to senior executives in the business.Languages: fluency in both English and Spanish.Good mastery of relevant software (especially MS Excel and MS PowerPoint; PowerBI and similar tools is a plus).
