Overview: This role leads the expense planning and analysis activities for the P&C organization, partnering closely with business unit leaders, CFO teams, and senior leadership to support expense work in alignment with business unit strategy and goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead a team of 3-5 financial business advisors/specialists.
Develop multi-year expense roadmaps for P&C business units aligned with combined ratio goals.
Support Enterprise, P&C, and business unit expense goals through close partnership with business leaders and CFO teams to identify opportunities, validate benefits, monitor, and report on progress.
Leverage the Strategic Expense Planning Framework to support expense reduction goals and future growth investments.
Provide financial expertise and advice to business partners to achieve a cost-competitive structure.
Execute and complete multi-year expense forecasts and operating plans, including analysis and reporting deliverables for CFO teams and senior leadership.
Lead industry and peer expense benchmarking activities, including analysis and recommendations to achieve business unit goals and strategy.
Advance planning and forecasting capabilities to drive greater efficiency and consistency in processes.
Execute key monthly deliverables, including analysis of results and creation of reporting packages.
Support P&C project portfolio planning processes, including benefits validation.
Create insightful analysis and materials for finance and business partners to proactively support and drive business results.
Foster an engaging, collaborative, and inclusive environment for associates regardless of location.
Empower a community of practice to identify, collaborate, and transform finance/business unit capabilities.
Support associate development and provide opportunities to learn and grow within and across the team.
This position will be working a hybrid schedule with 2 days in an office location in Columbus, OH.

Reporting Relationships: Reports to Vice President/Officer. Manages at team of four or more financial professionals.
Typical Skills and Experiences:
Education: Undergraduate studies in finance, economics, accounting or statistics; advanced degree in financial field desired. Technical insurance coursework desirable.
License/Certification/Designation: CPA preferred.
Experience: Typically, ten or more years of relevant experience related to accounting, finance, insurance or administrative business functions, with at least five years of management level experience.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Advanced knowledge of statistical analysis, financial statement preparation, budgeting and financial analysis techniques, and related business operations. Facility with GAAP and statutory accounting practices and insurance/financial service business requirements. Thorough knowledge of administrative policies and procedures required.
Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.
