About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst to join our finance team in Edinburgh. This is a data analysis and reporting-focused role, requiring an individual with strong financial expertise, excellent analytical capabilities, and the ability to translate complex financial and non-financial data into meaningful insights. You will support key business partners, primarily focusing on delivery and operations, while providing high-quality financial analysis and reporting for the Group Services CFO and global executives. The candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting the operational transformation project.
Key Responsibilities
Analyse large volumes of financial and operational data to provide actionable insights.
Translate non-financial data and key performance indicators (KPIs) into financial metrics and assess their impact on financial models.
Produce high-quality financial reports tailored to internal stakeholders, with a particular focus on departmental performance.
Conduct cost analysis and optimization, identifying opportunities to enhance profitability and efficiency.
Support forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning processes.
Track key financial and operational KPIs, monitoring cost trends and assessing their financial impact.
Partner with various business units to provide financial insights and recommendations that drive strategic decision-making.
Collaborate closely with the Group Services CFO, assisting in financial reporting and analysis for global executive leadership.
Work in a fast-paced, agile environment, adapting to evolving business needs and priorities.
Key Requirements
Proven experience as a Financial Analyst, or similar role with a strong focus on data analysis and reporting.
Expertise in handling and analysing large financial datasets, drawing meaningful insights.
Strong ability to convert non-financial data and KPIs into financial metrics and assess their business impact.
Experience producing departmental financial reports for internal stakeholders, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
Advanced proficiency in financial modelling, forecasting, and planning.
Solid understanding of cost analysis, cost optimization, and profitability improvement.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
Strong business acumen with the ability to partner effectively with operational teams and senior stakeholders.
Proficiency in financial software, Excel (advanced), and BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or similar).
Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial data clearly to both financial and non-financial audiences.
