Financial Analyst – Software & IT Accounting (Level 7)
**Job Description** Hybrid: This position requires to work 3 days on site 2 days at home remote on a full-time basisHybrid: This position requires to work 3 days on site 2 days at home remote on a full-time basis What you will do: + Complete monthly/quarterly accounting close process through comprehensive preparation of manual journal entries and account reconciliations, maintaining high standards of documentation and support to ensure compliance with policy and consistent treatment + Develop positive strong working relationships and continually liaise with GM U.S. Controllership, IT Finance, IT Business and Global Business Solutions team(s) supporting Software & IT in accounting for items such as term software, maintenance, perpetual software, purchased services, variance analytics and asset reconciliation/disposal/reporting + Complete monthly/quarterly variance analysis to understand and document critical movement(s) in account balances against comparison periods, and develop reporting packages for leadership + Support continuous improvement in design, implementation and execution of processes and controls to ensure the overall accuracy of financial accounting and financial statement disclosures + Identify, interpret and analyze accounting risks and issues, applying GM SOX frameworks to support periodic testing and reporting with GM SOX team and quarterly disclosure surveys + Support as needed on special projects (e.g., conduct research on accounting issues and determine appropriate guidance, prepare accounting review memos, support team meetings, compliance with record retention and other administration, etc.) **Additional Job Description** + Fluent in English + Certified Professional Accountant (“CPA”), or other similar designation/background preferred + Bachelor Degree in Business Administration (Accounting or similar) + 5 years experience in accounting or similar roles + Ability to understand and apply technical accounting knowledge, including U.S. GAAP concepts + Detail-oriented, takes pride in integrity and accuracy of work + Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines with high quality + Strong oral, presentation and written communication skills + Proven teamwork and advanced interpersonal skills to work effectively with different teams + Self-directed, able to work with minimal supervision + Advanced Excel, SAP knowledge preferred, self-directed development for other IT systems + Understanding of controls and risks (e.g., familiar with SOX framework) In case you need any reasonable adjustment to continue with your process, let your recruiter know.
