Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Financial Administrator to join our client’s expanding solar company in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance and accounting, with a passion for sustainability and the solar industry. This role requires extensive knowledge of financial management principles, analytical skills, and the ability to work independently. The Financial Administrator will play a crucial role in managing financial operations, ensuring accuracy in financial transactions, and providing valuable insights to improve business operations.

Responsibilities:
1. Financial Management:
– Develop and maintain financial systems, standards, and procedures.
– Prepare financial reports, budgets, and forecasts regularly.
– Monitor and control financial transactions, analyzing variances and making recommendations for improvements.
– Conduct financial analysis and provide recommendations to improve profitability and efficiency.
– Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.

2. Accounting:
– Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring accuracy and timely payments/receipts.
– Review and reconcile bank statements, credit cards, and other financial statements.
– Manage the general ledger and maintain accurate records of transactions.
– Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
– Coordinate with external auditors and provide necessary documentation.

3. Cash Flow Management:
– Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure sufficient liquidity.
– Prepare cash flow forecasts and maintain comprehensive records.
– Develop strategies to optimize cash flow and manage working capital effectively.
– Liaise with stakeholders to ensure timely payments and collections.
– Assist in controlling costs and minimizing financial risks.

4. Financial Compliance:
– Keep abreast of financial regulations and industry trends.
– Ensure compliance with tax laws, financial reporting standards, and other regulations.
– Assist in preparing and submitting accurate tax returns and other financial documentation.
– Collaborate with auditors and regulatory bodies during financial audits.

Requirements:
– Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
– Proven work experience as a Financial Administrator or similar role in the solar or renewable energy industry.
– In-depth knowledge of financial management principles, practices, and regulations.
– Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office (especially Excel).
– Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
– Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines.
– Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
– Good communication and interpersonal skills.
– Knowledge of the solar industry and sustainable practices would be an advantage.
