Job Description

Established financial services business seeks a Financial Accountant to join them. This role suits a CA(SA) candidate with financial services experience who has a keen willingness to learn, the ability to adapt well and who can rise to a challenge. This role calls for someone who can manage multiple priorities, is a good team player and who enjoys a space where they will get involved across other areas in the finance team.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for the SAM and SARB regulatory reporting for the Life company Offer a supervisory role in respect of fees, assets under management and flows First level review of management and performance fee calculations and invoices monthly Oversight of the fee function, including engaging with stakeholders both internal and external as required Assist with annual budgeting process in respect of AuM, flows, and fee income.  Statutory reporting and management accounts Working alongside Compliance to complete and submit the Group Own Risk Solvency Assessment (ORSA) report to the Board and the FSCA.
Review of monthly policyholder transactions received from external service providers. Additional monthly and ad-hoc reporting, including the preparation of board reports. Various tax preparations and submissions Review and approval of payments, journal entries and month-end reconciliations

Requirements:

Minimum of CA(SA) qualified with financial services clients during audit Minimum of 2 years post qualification experience, with a strong preference to asset management or insurance experience Good strong knowledge of IFRS Strong knowledge of IFRS A good team player with excellent organisational skills Action orientated and proactive in approach Excellent communication skills both written and verbal Problem solver who has an eye for detail Good levels of self-drive and curiosity Strong planning and co-ordinating skills and good time management Ability to manage multiple priorities well Highly numerate with analytical skills
