Finance Solutions Lead Analyst (C13) hybrid located in Heredia
The Fin Solutions Lead Analyst is a strategic professional who stays abreast of developments within own field and contributes to directional strategy by considering their application in own job and the business. Recognized technical authority for an area within the business. Requires basic commercial awareness. There are typically multiple people within the business that provide the same level of subject matter expertise. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. Significant impact on the area through complex deliverables. Provides advice and counsel related to the technology or operations of the business. Work impacts an entire area, which eventually affects the overall performance and effectiveness of the sub-function/job family. **Responsibilities:** + Contributes to the design, roll-out and governance of financial solutions, including: + Participates in formulating and setting strategic direction for the process, organization and architecture covering Finance across Citi businesses, products, functions and locations + Assists in setting business and information architecture standards for Finance + Plays a part in settling and operating necessary forums and frameworks to establish and govern policies and starts for global Finance processes + Participates in assessing and incorporating changing business, regulatory and market information needs into finance processes and applications + Strategic professional who advises on directional strategy by analyzing subject matter and its application in own job and the business. + Acts as a technical expert who acts as an advisor on significant business/product decisions + Implements policies and procedures. + Performs other duties and functions as assigned. + Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision. + Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy. + Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members. + Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency. **Qualifications:** + 6-10+ years of relevant experience, within the financial services industry preferred + Recognized technical authority for an area within the business. + Requires communication and diplomacy skills in order to guide and influence others. + Experience and demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a complex and dynamic environment + Self-motivated with the ability to make decisions in the absence of detailed instructions. + Advanced Microsoft Office skills + In depth knowledge of banking products / systems preferred. + CPA preferred **Education:** + Bachelor's degree, potentially Master's degree Citi Finance is responsible for the firm’s financial management and related controls. The team comprises disciplines including Treasury, Tax, Controllers and Financial Planning & Analysis, and manages and partners on key Citi initiatives and deliverables, such as our quarterly earnings process and ensuring Citi’s compliance with financial rules and regulations. The Global Financial Controls (GFC) team is strategically placed within the Controller’s Chief Administrative Office under Finance. The GFC Americas Risk and Control team is responsible for managing Citi’s global risk and controls oversight activities covering business and function controllers. The role will partner with Finance Controllers to assess complex issues through root cause analysis and other analytical techniques, structure potential solutions and drive to resolution with stakeholders. Controller teams that we support include Wealth Management, USPB, Transformation, SEC Reporting, Strategic Ledger, Corporate Functions and Controller Systems and Data Operations. **Key Responsibilities of this role:** + Partner with business Controller teams in drafting Issues and Corrective Action Plans. + Recommend action plans for identified risks and deficient or missing controls, and partners with stakeholders to develop approaches for broader corporate/local issues. + Responsible for coordination and agreement of the period to be pre-validated for sustainability with Issue owners. + The role may require collaboration with different business areas to identify root cause and drive improvements across the organization. + Ability to work in close liaison and coordination with business stakeholders and sponsors to elicit, analyze, communicate, plan, manage, validate, and prioritize requirements and build strong professional relationship. + Establish agreements with Internal Audit and internal stakeholders on CAP artifacts required for closure & sustainability. + Review issues cited in audit reports (internal and external), monitor execution of corrective action plans through active engagement with Issue owners throughout Issue lifecycle to ensure issues are closed timely and sustainably. + Support Control Metrics process and improvement. + Keep abreast of internal policy changes to further identify new key risk areas impactful to current open issues. + Promoting a strong control culture to facilitate timely escalation of significant risks through control governance channels. + Support Issue Management process, including review of Issues sent to Internal Audit, ORM and Compliance for validation. Support ORM and Compliance Review and Challenge process. + Review and challenge of issues and corrective action plans in internal and external audit reports prior to report finalization. Agree sustainability and CAP artifacts to be sent to IA to support Issue closure. Ensure issues have senior ownership according to Issue Management Policy. + Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency. + Assist with execution of key policies and procedures, including Operational Risk Management, Records Management, Continuity of Business and Third-Party Management, among others. + Perform other risk and control activities as required. + Work as trusted advisor to Finance Controllers on drafting Issues and formulating action plans to mitigate risks and remediate control deficiencies. + Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand the end-to-end process, identify risks, and recommend risk management strategies. + Analyze root cause of control breaks and gaps; provide guidance on remediation actions. + Assess sustainability requirements, dependencies and artifacts to close for corrective action plans. + Monitor and track the progress of corrective action plans.
