What You'll Do
The Functional Finance Team is an integral part of the worldwide Finance organization, providing insight supported by meaningful and accurate financial information to help guide and influence the decision making process. The team partners with the leadership of our Global Functions, senior finance management, and local, regional and global finance colleagues across the organization.
With this role, we are looking for a trusted and experienced finance professional to act as Finance Business Partner for one of our functions, Finance Manager of our internal time investments and secondments, as well as Lead for our Finance Special Projects in close contact with our Global Finance leadership. This role will drive impactful financial analysis, support data-driven problem identification and decision-making, and enable the organization to achieve its strategic priorities.
Specifically:
The role will support Finance leadership in critical Special Projects from inception to full implementation (50%)Will have oversight of our internal time investments portfolio working closely with those managing our cash investments and our PA specific investments, as well as the teams receiving investments (30%)Will provide one of our functions with decision support with respect to their non-billable costs strategy and associated investments, financial planning, and developing structured reporting to translate financial results into actionable recommendations (20%)
The role will play an active role as a thought partner with a full function, Chief of Staff and Finance leadership in many respects, including leading projects sponsored by Finance for WW BCG.
The responsibilities of this role will also include:
Helping our Finance leadership identify key issues in the way we operate and find solutions by engaging with our regions, systems and local offices, as well as other functions that can be impactedServing as a trusted thought partner to leadership, conducting deep dive analysis on historical data to inform and influence future business strategies and decisions.Preparing materials for one of our functions Leadership Team, Investment Committee, Finance Leadership Team, Operating Committee and Executive Committee as neededEnsuring a good governance of our internal time investments by staying in close contact with the teams, understanding status of the initiatives, needs and value to be delivered, and translating it into rationalized asks to our CFO and Global Chief of Staff for approvalProviding transparency regularly to our CFO and Global Chief of Staff on overall status of the investments portfolioProviding transparency on costs and supporting decision making and investment asks at functional level to key stakeholdersChallenging status quo and pushing for reporting automation and innovation, and process improvement, simplification and optimizationYOU’RE GOOD AT
Building relationships will be critical to success in this role in order to establish a seat at the table with senior management as a true Special Projects leader and Finance Business Partner. This will require the ability to balance when to listen, negotiate, and flex or push back where needed. Further, this role will require you to be proactive in learning and understanding the business and topics you are supporting, to establish yourself as a trusted partner.
This role will require a confident person with exceptional judgment, who can own and drive full topics and make and influence decisions with senior management through analysis-based diagnostics, strategic thinking and ownership of responsibilities and development of expertise. To drive educated decision making, you need a sound understanding of the bigger picture and an ability to prioritize.
Ultimately this person will need to have a consultative approach to problem solving, working closely with stakeholders to understand the problem we are trying to solve, providing deep analysis, and offering viable solutions.
What You'll Bring

The Functional Finance team is currently made up of 30+ people across Boston, London and India working to provide financial decision support to BCG’s functional management teams.
