What you will do:
HSBC’s Finance team covering the European Transformation is dedicated on driving successful execution of the bank’s strategy. The team supports key stakeholders responsible for execution of the bank’s strategic actions and serve as the primary source of programme-wide financial reporting.

As part of the Finance team, you will be responsible for the full program accounting of financials including impacts to direct and indirect costs, risk-weighted assets, revenue, and investment requirements. You will play a key role in coordination with the broader FPA, Strategic Cost Management, and Business Finance teams, and lead engagement in assessing the impacts to financial plans.

In this role you will:

Partner with transformation to engage directly with Workstreams on a regular basis, providing support and ensuring consistent planning, execution, and delivery across areasUnderstand business drivers, develop metrics, and draw conclusions based on financials and planning assumptionsProactively identify and communicate risks, issues and dependencies, as it relates to program financialsAssist in constructing a financial reporting process that tracks the associated PnL and Balance Sheet metrics as they relate to Transformation projectsPerform ad-hoc analysis and presentation development to influence decision making and gain stakeholder supportFacilitate decision making on key issues by providing adequate information and analysis to the Head of Finance – Europe TransformationWork directly with the strategic workstreams to provide support and ensure consistent planning, forecasting and execution across areaProvide input to narratives appropriate to inform the Board, GEC, ExCo, and Regulators

You should apply if you have:

Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Finance or Strategy roleExtensive knowledge of financial services businesses and operationsStrong understanding of financial data such as costs, RWAs, and revenues, with the ability to contextualize the information into business activitiesProject management experience and/or understanding of plan constructionProven track record of engaging senior stakeholders and effective business partnering skillsExtensive experience conducting qualitative and quantitative analysis that leads to actionable insightsDynamic flexibility in work, ability to pivot and quickly create new pieces of analysisStrong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skillsResiliency, ability to keep pushing forward and adapting to changing requirementsUnderstanding of HSBC’s financial reporting systems (i.e. TM1, Fusion, etc.) and Programme Management tools (i.e. Clarity)Outstanding verbal and written communication skillsStrong Excel, PowerPoint, and Writing skills mandatory
