Job Summary:

Job Summary
Finance Manager is responsible for the transformation of plant cost finance from tactical reporters to strategic advisers, build robust succession planning and proactively drive consistency of process across the GAF network. Deep knowledge of product, manufacturing process with tight linkage to plant leadership (full partner) - change agent. Proactively suggests/engages in continuous improvement. Proactively manages plant financials and understands levers as the push to the P&L. Full ISC coverage, beyond just the plant, is a CFO for the geography. Leads and develops a team of Finance staff. Develops sound succession planning while mentoring and coaching towards strategic influence.

Essential Duties

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Assess and implement key financial processes and procedures; establish and reinforce best practices across the site, focusing on automation and continuous improvement
• Work cross-functionally with site leadership to produce, interpret and present periodic forecast and annual budgets, aligning with Purchasing & Planning inputs, operations capabilities, site strategy and leverage targets
• Lead month end close activities; variance analysis, root cause & corrective actions, site reporting and reconciliations
• Publish estimated budgets to operations to assist in OH forecasting and spending control. Identify opportunities for overhead cost improvement. Communicate these during spending review meetings with Operations Leadership and with your Sr Finance Manager
• Engage with Operations to review and discuss maintenance spending in accordance with our prescribed CAM calendar. Drive change through your influence and engagement during this critical review. Challenging the spend and promoting cost control is required
• Conduct a critical review of Material Usage data across all products in accordance with our prescribed CAM calendar. Lead the conversation and identify opportunities for MUV savings. High level manufacturing process knowledge, product costing and allocation analysis is required
• Demonstrate a high level understanding of the manufacturing process. Engage in activities that promote more floor time in the plant operations
• Ensure proper inventory controls; standard costing (production rates, BOMs, and overheads), transactional discipline, and reporting accuracy
• Partner with site leadership on site capex plans: forecast, approvals, payback and post-mortem reviews
• Support and/or develop critical recurring and ad-hoc reporting and analysis to drive the business
• Analyze manufacturing operations, equipment availability and utilization, analyzing changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods or services provided to determine effects on cost
• Drive and ensure site compliance to internal and external audits and policies
• Practices strong engagement with team members including accepting diversity of ideas and thoughts, sharing responsibility for success, demonstrating honesty and integrity, helping employees solve problems and showing respect
• Participate in safety and housekeeping programs as required.
• Participate in staff/production meetings with the Operations group.
• Participate in change management as it relates to accounting systems, processes and procedures. Lead the effort and provide training as required.
• Budgeting/Forecasting Process - involvement in plant production rates, BOMs, and OH. Work directly with Operations and Plant Leadership during the budgeting cycle to identify areas of opportunity. Work with Analysts and local ops team to implement the business plan and execute consistent process and reporting.

Travel Requirements: 5-10%
