Element has an opportunity for a new Finance Manager to join our growing Group FP&A Team in London, with strong experience in Financial Planning and Analysis and a proven track record of delivering continuous process improvement. This position requires both commercial and analytical skills and offers the opportunity to significantly contribute to the Group's reporting and analytical practices within a complex multinational organisation.

 

As an integral part of the Group Finance Planning & Performance Management (P&PM) team, our Group FP&A team plays a pivotal role in driving the financial performance of the company. We deliver comprehensive analysis, consolidate management reporting, prepare Board papers, manage forecasts/budget processes, and support Investor Relations.

 

Responsibilities Monthly Management Reporting: Deliver the Group’s monthly performance reports to the Operating Board and Group Board, ensuring the efficient production with clear and actionable insights at the company, regional, end market and business unit levels to drive business decisions that align with Element’s financial goalsForecast and Budget: Lead the Group’s Annual Budget and mid-year forecast processes, including related analysis and reporting. This involves creating planning models within our FPA system (Board), issuing group guidance and preparing presentations for the BoardBusiness modelling: Support updates to the Company’s five-year plan and corporate strategic planning process, ensuring that short and medium-term plans are linked to longer-term strategyInvestment and Capital appraisal: Manage the Group’s capital investment process, including ownership of the Capex Tracker and Investment Committee materials. Review investment appraisals and post-approval appraisals submitted by local teams, offering financial analysis to support the approval and tracking of capital and investment projectsSystems: Become a Power User of the recently implemented Group Corporate Performance Management System (“Board”). The Group FP&A team is part of the Centre of Excellence for this system, leading the development of functionality and providing training to other users and advising on future enhancementsInvestor Relations: Oversee the reporting to investors and credit agencies in accordance with the reporting timetable, and draft responses to investor queries accurately and timelyAd Hoc Financial Analysis: Provide group financial support and advice during pre- and post-acquisition M&A transactions, including integration and onboarding of acquired Finance teamsProcess Improvement: Drive continual innovation and improvement in all current and future processes, ensuring a consistent ‘One Element’ approach to all Finance work streams by collaborating across Group Finance and with Regional counterpartsTeam management: Have direct management responsibly of two Finance Analysts within the teamCollaboration: Collaborate with the business and central functions to develop relevant divisional / regional Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Skills / Qualifications

Essential skills include:

ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent, with a minimum of 3-years post-qualification experienceStrong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail and experience in analysing financial results, trends, financial KPIs, and financial ratiosProficiency in presenting complex topics in an easy-to-understand manner and facilitating meetings with senior managementExperience in preparing and reviewing financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statementsAbility to work independently and influence and inspire teamsProactive attitude, open to learning new skills, and identifying opportunities for improvement and developmentAbility to meet deadlines and prioritize in a fast-paced, dynamically changing environmentStrong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work and interact with personnel at all levels within the companyAbility to work across time zones and collaborate with a globally diverse culture

Highly desirable skills include:

Experience with implementing new systems and/or processes would be advantageousExperience in accounting for capital projects and/or project accounting would be advantageousExperience as a line-manager would be advantageousInternational group and Private Equity experience would be advantageous

Software experience:

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, PowerPoint, and WordKnowledge of Power Query/VBA would be highly desirableExperience using of CPM solutions (such as Board) would be highly desirableExperience with analysing large datasets Company Overview
