The US Business, Electronics, Automotive, and Technology Solutions (BEATS) organization is seeking a talented Finance Manager to join the team as the finance lead supporting one of our largest retail technology vendor relationships. This role is a highly visible opportunity that requires strong controllership, thought leadership, sound business judgment, and a proven ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders across the Stores organization.
We're looking for a self-starter with effective business partnership experience and proven abilities to manage complex projects, dive deep into details, and translate financial insights into actionable business strategies. This person will partner with leaders across several teams including operations, retail category leaders, merchandising and advertising, and marketing teams to provide strategic direction, tactical execution, and decision support.

Key job responsibilities
Primary responsibilities:
- Perform financial reporting, ad-hoc project analyses, and financial modeling using a broad range of tools including Excel
- Drive the core financial processes for the vendor relationship including Annual Operating Plans, long range Strategic Plan and Monthly/Quarterly Business Reviews - this includes coordination with stakeholders in a number of markets globally
- Complete complex business modeling and analysis to drive revenue growth, identify operating improvements, deep dive on cost structures and analyze business opportunities/investments (ROI/NPV)
- Influence business decisions with effective verbal and written communication, data driven analysis and modeling, and presentation of recommended actions and alternatives
- Facilitate financial review meetings with business leaders and work with business partners to ensure effective controllership and cost management
- Perform root cause analysis and uncover core issues using data to improve and create new measures for financial performance
- Develop, recommend, and implement policies and programs that guide the organization in improving its profitability and managing financial and compliance risks
- Drive innovation in financial processes, working with data source providers and technology teams to ensure that key data is timely, accurate, and automated
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- BA or BS in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a highly analytical field (e.g., Engineering, Math, Computer Science) and 5+ years of finance experience, or Master’s degree and 3+ years of finance experience
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA, or CPA
- 5+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
- 5+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
- 5+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience
- 5+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
- 5+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
- Experience performing ad hoc analysis using advanced Excel
- Experience building and managing financial models for business forecasting and problem solving
- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
