Job Description: Under the guidance of the Vice Chair, Administration and Finance, the Finance Manager will:   Oversees the day-to-day operations of the department’s financial activities, financial compliance, and the supervision of departmental finance employees. •Provides guidance and direction to direct reports. •Responsible for maintaining an inclusive working environment that is free from discrimination and harassment. •Oversite of the department’s accounts payable, accounts receivable, and procurement transactions for clinical operations, research labs, and projects. •Ensure that all programs, activities, and series comply with university, state, and federal regulations and in accordance with generally accepted accounting practices.   Department and UF Center Budget Planning and Financial Reporting. •Lead the preparation of reports that summarize and forecast business activity and financial performance in income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected outcomes. •Involvement in all phases of the annual budget process, including center budgets. This includes. preparations for all budgets, including main campus and regional program clinical operations; contract revenue that supports department clinical operations; academic supplement funding that support department programs that focus on quality and education missions; restricted funding sources from grants, clinical projects that support research; as well as institutional and donor-funded accounts. •Responsible for the management of the cost accounting for the Department. This includes overseeing the department and center cost allocation for space performed each fiscal year and a major factor in the Indirect Cost Allocation for each University Department or Entity.   Supports the strategic planning vision and assists the Vice Chair and Department Chair in developing and implementing the overall departmental strategic plan. •Establish performance goals and measures to evaluate the success of fiscal management for the Department. •Assist the Vice Chair in formulating and implementing financial planning, forecasts, and presentations to Senior Leadership at the University of Florida College of Medicine, UF Health Hospital, and UF Health Sciences, and Preston Wells Brain Tumor Center.

Manage and ensure the organization's accounting policies and practices are followed per university policy and generally accepted accounting practices. •Manage the department's financial record keeping, reporting, and other accounting functions. •Lead the preparation of reports that summarize and forecast business activity and financial performance in income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected outcomes. •Assists Vice Chair in formulating and implementing finance policy and procedures. Expected Salary:

$81,100-92,200

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and six years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in business, finance, or accounting and three years of progressively responsible fiscal management experience, including budget/forecasting and accounting systems. Demonstrated ability in application of organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of PeopleSoft and accounting/spreadsheet software. Knowledge of College of Medicine Planning and Reporting System. Understand College of Medicine Budgetary process. Knowledge of all aspects of the Grant Process. Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Ability to work independently. Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments. Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Special Instructions to Applicants:
