As an Expeditor, your role will be to unpack bulk kits of parts delivered from Blue Origin’s warehouse, strategically re-assemble and stage those parts for delivery to each work cell, and ensure a stream of work is readily available for delivery to our technicians at all times. You will work within the Final Assembly team to manage the velocity of parts to the work cells, respond to requests for replacement parts or additional parts, and transport parts and completed assemblies either back to inventory or forward to the next stage of assembly. This is a hands-on position that requires strong communication, organization, attention to detail and problem solving capabilities. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.

Responsibilities:

As an Expeditor, your role will be to unpack bulk kits of parts delivered from Blue Origin’s warehouse, strategically re-assemble and stage those parts for delivery to a work cell, and ensure a stream of work is readily available for delivery to our technicians at all timesCoordinate with Production Control to strategically control the flow of materials to manufacturing work centersReconcile any part discrepancies vs. request list; coordinate with Production Control and Procurement to order replacements or request spares if necessaryCoordinate interdepartmental activity with warehouse, quality inspection, non-conformance review board, purchasing, and logisticsSchedule and expedite the movement of parts by means of move orders, stock transfers and requests for shipping ordersWork cross functionally to expedite any material shortagesContinuously monitor and respond to technician part needs, including replacements for non-conforming parts, delivery of fasteners and shop stock, moving assemblies to inventory or to the next work center, and other similar duties as requestedRead and understand part transportation requirements specified on the work orderMonitor the flow/velocity of jobs through the production line and ensure work completes on time to scheduleMonitor the velocity of the disposition of MRB and stranded materialEnter material transactions in ERP systemProcess Scrap and obsolete inventory from WIP locations as requiredPrepare for, conduct, and assist in reconciliation of cycle counts

Qualifications:

Desired:

Experienced with using inventory and/or ERP/MRP systemsPrior experience within the aerospace industry Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or related fieldExperience in both development and production environments

Required for Certain Job Profiles: Drivers who operate Commercial Motor Vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) or combination of power unit and trailer that meets or exceeds 10,001 lbs. and/or transports placardable amounts of hazardous materials by ground in any vehicle on a public road while in commerce, may be subject to additional Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations including: Driver Qualification Files, Medical Certification, Road Test, Hours of Service, Drug and Alcohol Testing (CDL drivers only), vehicle inspection requirements, CDL requirements (if applicable) and hazardous materials transportation/shipping training.
