Your role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Field Services Manager to support our government contracts division. The ideal candidate will have experience in Defence industry with managerial and relevant technical experience. You will be responsible for the Field Services Team across Australia in various states. Ideally you will have experience in managing a national team, with exceptional leadership skills and able to lead a team to achieve goals and deliver excellent customer service.

You are leading a team providing post-sales technical support in the Australian defence environment. You and your team will be responsible for maintaining quality and consistency of service by documenting and identifying trends in customer needs. Performing on-site services,  equipment installations and maintenance, as well as upgrades to existing equipment.

An important aspect of your role will include designing and managing product training as well as delivering on-site training, instruction and education on products and equipment usage to both defence personnel and colleagues.  

Key Responsibilities will include:

Leading and managing the Field Services Team.Operating and supporting the DTCS Next Generation system, performing on-site services for Aftermarket clients;Provide support to operators to maintain Simulator equipment and facilities, whilst assisting operators on the usage of digital Close Air Support and Digitally Aided Fires platforms.Conduct technical analysis of product implementations, modifications and enhancements to products in accordance with specific customer specifications.Manage technical products, services, logistics and provisioning, quantity surveying, and configurations to assigned customers.Troubleshooting technical problems and issues and recommends actions to company or customer representatives. Assesses product needs in accordance with customer specifications.Manages statement of work to meet customer and contract requirements.Manages a team of primarily intermediate or experienced professionals, across Australia.Sets objectives and guides others on execution/approach for achievement of operational results.Solve difficult problems for the team and the customer; involving consideration of multiple variables. Explains policies, practices, and procedures and may influence others.This position requires extensive travel predominantly domestically with some overseas travel as required.

Skills, Qualification and Background

Tertiary Qualification or extensive experience in defence related field.Qualifications in Training and Assessment or substantial experience in developing and delivery of training material.Experience in Australian Defence operations and terminology.Advance computer literacy and IT skills.Ability to lead a team to achieve operational targets within own work area with direct impact on the results.Ability to work independently and lead a team on larger, moderately complex projects / assignments.Exceptional leadership, problem-solving skills and able to influence others.Understanding and application of technical theories and concepts within the field of simulator technology.Demonstrated understanding of and experience in fault finding and diagnostic skills - hardware and software.Demonstrated understanding of and experience as a JFO or JTAC, coupled with technical qualifications in a related discipline.Consistent and unquestionable ethical conduct and discretion in all matters.
