As Field Service & Workshop Engineer you will support Hach Sub Sahara Africa sales growth by delivering primary levels of instrument field service & workshop support to external & internal customers.
Attainment of a Field Service Engineer is achieved by consistently engaging in field service activities that are related to both scheduled service and troubleshooting service activities related to Hach instruments.
You should also be able to apply advanced levels of engineering theory to understand root cause issues/problems and apply solutions to those problems as well as service-related activities and findings which must be documented as per Hach’s policies and procedures.
**In this role, a typical day will look like and focus on:**
+ Providing on demand front line field service support & workshop repairs to Hach customers.
+ Installing and verifying proper operation of instrument systems at customer sites.
+ Performing scheduled preventative maintenance interventions that include calibration, hardware or software upgrades, and verify work completed.
+ Maintaining spare parts inventory and provide input on parts usage related to failures.
+ Providing back-up service support outside of assigned territory as needed.
+ Providing technical support at Hach trade shows, sales demonstrations, and customer sites.
+ Maintaining and managing your own spare parts field service inventory kits according to defined procedures and service recommendations.
+ Creating and maintain service records using provided documents.
+ Providing feedback and communication to enhance technical service documents and bulletins that will be used by other field service personnel.
+ Providing communication updates to the service manager and other service staff colleagues.
+ Having the ability to troubleshoot and repair electromechanical instrument systems.
+ Pay attention to details and strive for technical excellence in your work.
+ Listening to the customer, understand each service situation and provide a response that meets or exceeds customer expectations.
+ Having the ability to work with other internal Hach cross-functional groups including logistics sales representatives.
+ Having the ability to operate instrumentation including multi-meters, and data acquisition equipment.
+ Understanding and maintaining quality compliance initiatives and procedures that are used within the organization.
+ Understanding the fabrication of parts, electromechanical motion control, and mechanical alignment is essential.
**The essential requirements of the job include:**
+ BS Degree/diploma in mechanical, electrical, electronic engineering, or experience that demonstrates related equivalence required.
+ A minimum of 5 years industry experience.
+ Willingness to travel up to 75% of time.
+ Must have a valid driver’s license, and a driving record, that is acceptable to Veralto.
+ Knowledge and use of personal computers, and common business software (MS Office), Oracle.
+ Excellent organizational skills.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
+ Ability to present complex or difficult messages clearly and persuasively
