Field Service Engineer – EM
Location: Field/Home Office Based: daily travel to customer sites covering London/Cambridge/Luton/Bedford areas

ZEISS is shaping technological progress and, through its solutions, is extending the horizon of the world of optics and associated areas.ZEISS consists of four segments: Semiconductor Manufacturing Technology, Industrial Quality & Research, Medical Technology, and Consumer Markets.What you’ll be doing.As a Field Service Engineer within the Research Microscopy Solutions (RMS) department at ZEISS working on our Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) and Focused Ion Beam (FIB) range of instruments you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional service and support to our customers. This hands-on position involves working on cutting-edge optical technology, ensuring that our products perform to the highest standards and meet customer needs.Provide on-site service, including diagnosis, repair, preventive maintenance, installation, and commissioning of ZEISS products.Ensure customer satisfaction by promptly addressing service requests and maintaining product performance.Document all service activities and submit reports in a timely manner.Manage spare parts, including ordering, installation, and returns to ensure minimal downtime for customers.Maintain tools and test equipment, ensuring they are properly calibrated and in optimal working condition.Offer technical support to customers and collaborate with colleagues to find solutions.Participate in site surveys and meetings to assess customer needs and propose solutions.Comply with ZEISS health, safety, and environmental policies while considering the commercial implications of your work.Key RequirementsTechnical Apprenticeship (completed) or HNC or higher in technical qualification such as electronics or engineeringFull National Driving LicenceProven experience in field service roles, with a focus on customer satisfaction.Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.Strong communication skills, both oral and written.Willingness to travel within the UK and Ireland, as well as internationally for training and meetings.We want you!With motivation and passion, you’ll fit right in at ZEISS!
