Working conditions are primarily outside and in underground drainage systems with confined spaces. Outdoor environment with frequent exposure to temperature extremes, traffic construction dust; damp/wet surfaces, overhead power lines, animal/insect bites, high noise, oily surfaces, liquid asphalt and lime. Exercises no supervision. Work Location 6927 W. Commerce (Southwest Service Center), San Antonio, Texas 78228 Work Hours 6:00 a.m. - 4:45 p.m., Monday - Thursday or Tuesday - Friday; May require working emergency response or inclement weather events Essential Job Functions + Inspects underground drainage infrastructure using Close-Circuit Television (CCTV) and/or visual inspections of drainage infrastructure. + Performs drainage locating and transfers information to site maps or mapping software. + Gathers and reports GPS data. + Performs basic maintenance of televising equipment. + Conducts site visits to assess requests. + Respond to situations where maintenance or repair of public infrastructures may need to be performed, frequently lifting and carrying equipment weighing 25 pounds. + Determines ownership and responsibility for areas in need of maintenance or repair. + Determines type of maintenance or repair to be completed. + Ensures compliance with safety and equipment standards, standard operating procedures and service level agreements. + Coordinates with appropriate personnel for maintenance and repairs. Plans, coordinates, and controls work zone traffic. + Prepares reports and maintains necessary records of work scheduled and performed. + May have to perform minor maintenance and repairs when applicable. + Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required. Job Requirements + High school diploma or GED equivalent (recognized by the Texas Education Agency or a regional accrediting agency). + Three (3) years of experience in field construction and maintenance, one (1) of which needs to be with pipe video inspection programs.) + Valid Class 'C' Texas Driver's License. Preferred Qualifications + Ability to operate televising equipment. + Ability to troubleshoot and use video and electrical test equipment. + Working knowledge of computers and various software applications. + Ability to read as-builts and site plans. + Ability to prepare clear and comprehensive reports. + Ability to work on confined spaces. + Ability to communicate successfully in both verbal and written correspondence with internal and external customers. + Working knowledge of various types of drainage infrastructure.
