We are recruiting for a Field Engineer/Welding Inspector, and you will be responsible to perform Surveillance to give confidence that the Activities are performed in accordance with the Contractor’s Work Information. You will form part of a team with the primary role to deliver the Team Lead duties described in the contract and ensure that HPC Quality needs, targets and expectations are met.
As the Field Engineer will be a staunch advocate of our Nuclear Safety Culture and help to embed this approach in all processes and activities undertaken on the Project. The scope will cover all Works associated with the construction of the designated section of the Project and the post holder will perform surveillance on the activities of the Works Contractors. This will include continuous, notified and planned surveillance
You will report to the Construction Superintendent for day-to-day guidance. Input into site wide management issues and a high level of interaction and coordination with other operational members of the site wide team will be required.
In addition to reporting and liaising responsibilities, as the Field Engineer/Welding Inspector you will be required to adhere to (and suggest enhancements and improvements to) company policies, procedures and protocols for construction, health & safety, and other functions.
The Field Engineer/Welding Inspector will be required to;
Check the Works are constructed in accordance with the contract and notify the Construction Superintendent of non-conformance request requirements. Submit details of any non-conformance request requirements to assist in the issuing of non-conformance reports. Proactively communicate with other site teams, maintain good communication links and ensure surveillance is timely reported. Contribute surveillance information to support KPI indicators. Endeavour to identify potential Quality issues before they arrive to enable mitigating actions. Support team instructions to take temporary measures to mitigate and keep works safe and within Quality standards. Proven experience of writing diaries which are accurate, concise and with relevance to the particular form of contract. Proven track record of working within a large construction team. Good attention to detail when checking work and materials. And the ability to maintain quality standards in a high-pressure environment. Able to establish appropriate working relationships with the contractors. Working knowledge of relevant British & European standards, construction and design codes/guidelines such as RCC-M, BS EN and ASME.Our Culture
