Sales Support Manager - Technical Sales

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to designing promotional strategy in line with the sales strategy. Each day, you will ensure the planning and timely execution of promotional activities with appropriate technical content for the assigned target audience. You will also showcase your expertise by leading, developing, and coaching the Technical Design and Promotions team proactively and ensuring a high level of technical knowledge.The work model for the role is: hybrid (#Li-Hybrid)This role is contributing to the Electrification Distribution Solutions division in the Baltimore/ D.C. area. There will be around 25% travel associated with this role. You will be mainly accountable for:• Collaborate with consultant, end user, utility and EPC/DBC engineers to define electrical project needs, supply design assistance, product selection, value engineering, budgeting & provide education on ABB solutions to gain acceptance of the same into project specifications.• Review and assess project specifications and end-user customer requirements to deliver electrical solutions including one-line electrical diagrams, schematic diagrams, lay-out & equipment drawings, equipment specifications and project budget pricing for low and medium voltage applications as well as develop accurate estimates of the electrical project budget plan for designers, and incorporating best practices.• Provide local support in the following products and applications: MV/ LV switchgear, switchboards, panelboards, transformers, motor control, power monitoring, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), automatic transfer switches (ATS), paralleling switchgear (PSG), generator circuit breakers and more. • Have a working knowledge of short circuit, coordination and arc flash mitigation concepts and the ability to illustrate their benefit via tools such as SKM or Easy Power.

Qualifications for the role

B.S. degree in engineering; strong preference in electrical with a minimum of 3 years of experience in the electrical distribution industry. Fluent in English; speaking and writing.Previous field, plant or design engineering in electrical power systems at major oil and gas companies, electric utilities or industrial facilities preferred.Knowledge of industry codes and standards; ANSI, IEEE, NEC, NEMA, NFPA 70E, UL preferred.Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
